Ok, so I hate seeing threads about OH! This guy was cut and we need to sign him, but honestly I do see the benefit of Justin Miller coming to Miami. Mods Move this thread if you must, but I do feel the Dolphins should give him a look see and bring him in. If anything we could have him play ST.

TY LAW PRACTICES, JETS CUT JUSTIN MILLER (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/11/11/ty-law-practices-jets-cut-justin-miller/)

The New York Jets (http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/#)’ latest acquisition has begun practicing with the team, and a former Pro Bowler has lost his job to make room for Law on the roster.
Cornerback Ty Law, who signed with the Jets yesterday (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/11/10/jets-sign-ty-law/), practiced with the team today after signing a one-year contract and passing a physical.
Jets coach Eric Mangini said “there’s definitely a chance (http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jqpoqurmo-0EELh_DuAkdDkNRLCQD94CSCCG1)” Law could play Thursday against the New England Patriots (http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/#). Law played his first 10 seasons in the league in New England.
To make room for Law on the 53-man roster, the Jets released cornerback Justin Miller. Once among the best kick returners in football, Miller was chosen to the Pro Bowl in 2006, but he has played in just one game this season.

The Jets are obviously not being built for the future.

Miller hasn't seen the field in 2 years keeps getting hurt and you alrdy have a returner in Ginn

It would be nice though to sign a rival teams player though. Aside from Chad, who else have we done that with?

I wouldnt mind some inside scoops from the defensive side of things

yep. I don't see what we have to lose by bringing him in. I have not heard any concerns as far as character.

yup he sure was

he gets burnt alot has 0 picks in 3 years

only thing he's good at is run support and tackling

he was fast at one point probley fastest player on the Jets but not so sure anymore tore up his Knee second game last year and has been hurt since think he played one game this year and was inactive the rest

Miller punched a women in the face last year and had charges brought up against him

screw that then. our secondary needs help, but we should just wait until FA/draft time to fix it.

because by the sounds of it, he sounds like jamar fletcher v2.0 with issues included

i always thought they should play him at safty he hits like a truck but just doesn't have the cover skills that you need to play corner

The year he made the probowl he also who the fastest man contest

but who knows what really happend to him if he's hurt or just got in Mangini's doghouse

Isn't fletcher still playing? and starting? for the Chargers?

But yes I would like secondary help but recently we haven't been horrible either.

No. He is a backup for the Bungles (as well as Chris Crocker).

I wouldn't mind signing him to a one year contract just for punt return duties. It seems that ginn won't be getting the job back there so having miller should be an upgrade at that position.

DFJR88

if ginn cant get the punt returning job, what makes you think miller will? hes a waste of money, end of discussion.

I think Justin Miller was the fastest man in the NFL wasnt he. I thought he was per rotoworld. But he did make the pro bowl in 2006 with the Jets. It couldnt hurt to have him here. Hed be cheap plus he has the speed and could develop into a good CB. It wouldnt hurt and we havent done anything to improve our secondary this year.

once you tear up your knee you are no longer the fastest man in the nfl. sorry.

If anything we could switch him and Ginn back there Returning kicks

right after ginn has a touchdown negated by a penalty. sounds like a great decision to me.

He still cant be any worse then who is behind andre goodman

Pass. Not only is he injury prone he is bit of a problem child. From what I have read, this release may also be a message to Law that Mangini is strict and he better behave better than when Herm was in charge or he'll be unemployed like Miller.

well, seeing as how jason allen is currently our nickelback, that would make him, logically speaking, the man behind goodman. ive been pleasantly surprised with the way j.allen is playing.

He returned punts for the jets for alittle bit but he couldn't handle them way to many fumbles it was a adventure

SUITORS LINING UP FOR MILLER? (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/11/12/suitors-lining-up-for-miller/)

Posted by Mike Florio on November 12, 2008, 2:43 p.m.
When the New York Jets (http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/#) dumped cornerback Justin Miller in order to create a spot for cornerback Ty Law, other teams apparently have lined up to get a crack at him.
Adam Schefter of NFL Network suggests that multiple teams could put in a waivers claim (http://blogs.nfl.com/2008/11/12/teams-take-quick-action-to-land-cb-miller/) for Miller in advance of Wednesday’s 4:00 p.m. EST deadline.
Possible candidates include the Raiders, Browns, Saints, and Vikings.
Priority is determined based on a team’s current record.Maybe????
