Are there any fans of the graphic novel out there? The movie is coming out next year. I'm pumped. It's going to be rated R, so they have no excuses but to make it the right way.

Here's a teaser trailer:

Only a few more weeks. I can't wait. I've been waiting for somebody to make this movie for over a decade now.

I have the feeling that I'm the only bum looking forward to this movie. I guess I won't need to camp out for tickets.

I have a copy which i still am trying to find time to read. It looks like a very interesting movie with an interesting concept, i just haven't been able to get into it yet. I want to read it before i see the movie.

Alright guys, there's only a few more days before this comes out and I want all of you at the theatres pronto on Friday, or Saturday, or Sunday, or the following week and watch this movie. It may end up being a let down from the book, but even if it's close it should be a decent movie.

see, i loved 300 and sin city, i just dont know if i will be able to get into this one. Im a big fan of the guy who plays the comedian, and want to see Dr Manhattan blow some **** up, so i'll probably give it a shot if im bored this month.

hope it doesnt let you down swordfish

I hope I'm not either. I know the director will make some changes, it goes with the territory. I just hope he doesn't butcher it. I hope the actors dont try too hard. I know the ending has been slightly changed from the book, which I'm fine with. If the movie sucks, I'll always have the book to fall back on. The book is so good that if the writer and director just follow it to the letter they'll make a good movie. We'll see soon enough.

My goal is to get Wayward to watch it and say something good about it.

Holy crap, you have to read this review! I have no problems with negative reviews, but this woman seems to be more concerned with "the children" watching it than the actual film itself. It's without a doubt the most idiotic review I've ever read...anywhere...on any movie. (don't forget to read the comments, they're just as hysterically bad) http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives/2009/03/the_watchmen_li.html

On a lighter note, Roger Ebert chimed in with his VERY positive (4 stars) review: http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090304/REVIEWS/903049997

That woman makes me want to see it even more. I'm glad I've read the book, because she gave out too many spoilers. She's stupid for not knowing what she was walking into. This isn't an uplifting movie, it's not Superman.

I have read the graphic novel years but it was years ago. From what I have heard they have stripped down the story for the movie. That is a bit of a worry, but it could still be a great movie..at the very least visually.

They'd have to work pretty hard to really mess this one up. It can be done though. I'll find out in a few days.

Just got back from the matinee. :woot: I loved it! I liked it more than The Dark Knight. I think everybody will enjoy this, even Wayward. The soundtrack throughout the movie was amazing. They held close to the book. What they left out or added on isn't anything to complain about.

I loved how the flow of the movie resembled the flow of the book. You can see the subtle "chapters" beginning and ending throughout the movie.

My favorite line is from none other than Rorshach, "I'm not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with me.".

My favorite scene: There's an intense sex scene with religious music playing over top of it. BTW, Malin Akerman is absolutely stunning, in the movie and in that scene. Man, does she have a rump on her.

For those of you that will watch it. There is a scene where somebody is looking at a lot of television screens together. Each screen is on a different channel. Look to the right and you'll see some nice lesbian porn.

Also, I hope the sight of a glowing blue penis doesn't bother anybody.

Just got back from the movie. Awesome. Simply Awesome.

The Rorshach line is not only the best in the movie, but one of the best I have ever heard in a movie.

Don't take the kiddies, though. It is very graphic...

I know, no kids should be allowed. Parents that take their kids to see this are either ignorant or irresponsible.

Did you see the lesbian porn that I was talking about? It's easy to miss because there are so many screens with different things going on.

The only lesbian porn I saw was the kissing at the beginning. I did see the 1984 Apple commercial on one of the screens, though.

Also, seeing the twin towers so much was kind of erie.

If you watch it again look to the right of all the screens. You can't miss it. I can't wait to see this movie again. Damn I loved this movie.

The time here in the UK is now midnight and I have been home just about an hour after watching this AMAZING movie. .

It had everything and was visually stunning, the characters were great and the whole film had an atmosphere of dark, Rorschach is by far the most aggresive and tortured soul in this piece but kicks *** because of it. . he has 2 really great lines. .

'you dont get it, im not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me'

'tell me Dr, what DO YOU see?

Dr manhatten as the god like disenfranchised character of the piece is totally awesome. . is there nothing he cant do .. well yes but you will find that out. .

some serious viloence and graphic scenes along with great action sequences make this just one of if not the best superhero movie i have ever seen and not having ever read the novels I came at this cold as it were

Saw it on IMAX last night, dug the hell out of it. The opening attack on The Comedian was fantastic. Rorschach was brought to life by Jackie Earl Haley, he was just awesome. One of my favorite parts in the book, Dr Manhattan's first visit to Mars, was wonderfully done. Even the big change to the ending worked for me. I really liked it.

I was curious to see the reactions of the audience to those who never read the novel, and just as I thought, they hated it. "Not enough action!"..."Too confusing!"...pretty much all the predictable responses I was expecting.

I just got off the phone with Wayward and he told me this was one of the best films he's seen in a while. Says it's a shoe in for top movie at the MTV movie awards.

As boring as it sounds, the class is pretty entertaining. The Professor just tells us stories of his time as a tax attorney the whole time.

I have never read the novel and really liked the movie. It was a little confusing at first, but it started to click pretty quick. Wasn't quite as good as The Dark Knight in my opinion, but it was pretty sweet movie. Well worth the money.

The movie was good, but the book blows away the movie IMO.

finally saw it yesterday. i didn't read the comics or the book - so i have nothing to go by - but i thought it was okay. the action and goriness was intense and worth the length. the plot, however, was eh. it was extremely predictable who the 'bad guy' was - and the whole blowing up people to save people left a little to be desired. i'm sure if i had been familiar with it beforehand, i probably would've liked it more. i also wasn't a fan of seeing blue dick throughout the flick. why did they clothe him in some scenes and leave him naked in others? not a big fan of unnecessary penis in movies.
