I have to admit I was curious to see what the reaction would be in the fourth quarter if Baltimore was running away with their game and the Jets were eliminated...the cheering for the Carpenter FG was pretty loud, among other things. Maybe the Jet fans just left by then but it's pretty ironic Chad got more support now than he did last year.

At least we are not Lions fans.

The irony here is that many of you were on the "Get Rid of Chad" bandwagon" Even last year..all I read was drop Chad for Clemens.

The Jets were already knocked out, Favre took care of that!

GOOD FOR CHAD!!!

Pennington is nothing special but Favre was just awful.

More to come...

Favre and Ty Law are both awful. Smith and Elam both need to go.
I spent a good chunk of Xmas day building ManginiMustGo.com dedicated to his removal! Tell you friends!
Thanks, i have to say, ive never been so happy to see the Jets loose. Pennington is a class act, and the Pats arent in the playoffs. Hopefully Mangini is gone too. Things could be worse, winning didnt get us anywhere that game anyway.
I'm happy the Favre experiment turned into a colossal failure for the organization. They got what they deserved by trying to pull a fast one on the fans by signing old damaged goods with no shortage of baggage.
I don't know what happened to Dolphins fans. Maybe it was the humility that comes from rooting for a 1-15 team. But you guys have been class acts even as our season was spiraling down the toilet. Really glad it's the Fins and not the Pats moving on to the Postseason.
No thank you. Cassel is proof that the Pats can make a success out of anyone. Whatever team he winds up on next will regret signing him.
Man Favre supposedly had trouble learning our offense. Imagine what it must have been like learning Fin Offense. I don't think they ran the same play twice
Every football fan's life includes a lot of heartbreak, but sometimes it seems like Jets fans have more than their share.
Lombardi Trophy and Mangini don't go together, mate.
No, I'm not happy. The Jets missed the playoffs and Favre was one of the major reasons. The only thing Im happy about is he's probably gone.
haha more to come

I'm sure they don't feel like we did after last season going 1-15.

Well at least we had hope for the next season because we (or at least I) didn't think things could get any worse.
I'm sure the SB Champs didn't feel better than us after that Baltimore win last season!

First they geled together and then they took off. Then something happened either before or immediately after the Denver "Ice Cold Rain Game". And that was it. Suddenly they can't pass, can't stop the run, can't defend the pass and they consistantly steered away from the running game. Seems like they just quit. What was said?
I heard it involved a goat and Mangini wearing a pink thong.
I think most Jets fans liked Chad but hated that he got hurt every year. When healthy he will give you a chance to win every day. The fact that he made it through 16 games without getting hurt is a miracle.
Signing free agents like stocking an expansion franchise... including Faneca, Pace, Woody, Jenkins, etc... etc... etc... $130 million.

Trading for Mr. All World QB Brett Farve to run the whole attempted buying of a championship show... $10 + million, and several draft picks.

Losing in your own stadium to the formerly 1-15 Miami Dolphins who's QB is the one your team discarded like a used tampon after signing the Big Apple heart-throb Farve... thus proving to everyone in the world that your just the SAME OLE JETS? ... PRICELESS!
I'll say one thing for the dolphins that I really admired, nobody touched their QB at all. CP had all the time in the world yet they were banging Favre around pretty good and don't they line-up in a 3-4 D as well?
How does a team go from looking like one of the best in the NFL, to looking like the worst, in a matter of 5 weeks?
More coming...

wish we had Chad and our 3rd rounder back lol
I see for a while that many people on this chat have negative feelings against Jets but now I understand everything that anyone says about them losing. I am very anrgy at manginius and I am very angry at Favre!!!

the team plays with NO heart and NO confidence! I am very tired of seeing this every week!!
Never mind the BS pregame speech that was one of the worst pregame speeches ever.

But when we lost and he just ran off the field without shaking anyones hand - that was truely a classless act. I am not sure I have ever seen that after a game from a QB.
I think Favre hates Chad more than most of us do. He gets lit up by him every time he plays him.

Maybe some more later. I'm about to get off.

Your telling me. I've done sooo much trash talking toward these dolphin fans, I'm afraid to show face at work tomorrow, or to anyone for that matter. Everyone that knows me, knows that I'm a Jets fan. During the whole game, and mostly after, my phone wouldn't stop ringing with phone calls, and text messages, from these sorry dolfans. I ignored all. Oh, woe is me. The only thing I had to boast about, is that we had the fins number. Now i don't even have that anymore.

Typical NY transplant attitude here in Miami. I for one truly enjoyed this one.

OK one more and I'm out....
Well this is all from one thread and I started on the last 5 pages so enjoy:

their chanting lets go pennington

Down by four, close game, and fans are chanting for the Phins?

Time to clean house in the stands as well.

Did you hear that crowd???

OMG..it's probably louder than what they get in Miami

Holy s***, the fans are cheering the FG.

That is sad, really f***ing sad. what a bunch of fairweather clowns.

Wow, that's a whole lotta cheering for the Fins after that FG.

The Jet Favre experiment = epic failure! Another misthrown pass.

Bye bye Mangina

Everybody left in the stadium is rooting for the Fins. Does it get anymore humiliating than that for this pathetic franchise?

Sounds like more people rooting for the Dolphins than the Jets, lol.

lmao mangini is going to cry

Fans cheering for the Fish, this is definitely a new low for an already sad history for Jets fans

Yeah! And Chad rubs salt into the wounds of a devastated franchise.

Blocked punt...TD

Holy crap it continues.

At least we only have to go 99 yards in 17 seconds! I like our chances...

I am disgusted with this crowd, the cheering on our "home field" is worse than than losing, terrible terrible terrible. They should have their season tickets revoked.

The stream I'm listening to, it sounds like the guy is getting laid while watching the game. So I have to watch the Jets lose and listen to some other guy get laid too. This is the worst game ever.

Favre's last pass was an illegal forward pass!! fitting.

C-H-A-D Chad Chad Chad!

Chad just gave the middle finger to the NYJ organization. And boy, do they deserve it!

This is one of my favorites...by a JETS fan! :baghead:

Well, there is a law that says "whatever can go wrong, will go wrong"...and next to that law you see the Jets logo.

Thanks are always welcome guys :d-day:

OK so some more coming.
I'm going to look at the Jets Inside Message Board also.
This is such a great day I couldn't sleep. It's 1:30 in SA and I'm rewatching the game (I recorded it) so it's a pretty good night.

JetsInsider:

Under-thrown balls, ducks, pick sixes (Thomas dropped a sure one), inability to convert on third and long.

We suck, I'm still happy Chad is no longer on this team.

Doesn't matter. Penny's taking his 4th trip to the playoffs. Colts vs. Dolphins in AFC Championship.

Just for the record, Fasano had to make a great catch on an under thrown ball for one of those TDs.

Just for the record, Chad's in the playoffs and Brett is not.

I say Mangini is in cahoots with Bellichick. Watch Mangini coach a great game against the Fins to get the Pats in the playoff's for his mentor Bellichick. I think Mangini is his puppet. Mangini is still a Patriot!

If we lose to Seattle and 30,000 Dolphin fans show up the following week - all wearing DOLPHIN CHAD PENNINGTON jerseys and then we lose to the fish with our former washed up QB beating our HOF Pro Bowl QB (along with his 6 Pro Bowl teamates...) then...

THIS season will have to be considered the worst in Jets history and ONCE AGAIN the Dolphins are the cause of our humiliation and suffering causing a THIRD HC in Jets history to get fired no less! THREE!

GangGreen:

That first Favre INT was a classic Favre pass/punt. Just close your eyes and hurl it and hope somone on your team catches it. Damn. I still haven't drank enough to forget this game. Off to grab another beer....

at least we took the Pats down with us.

Now we can watch 7 of our players in the pro-bowl lmao. Brett in the pro-bowl? Makes me wanna puke! Not for nothing but how does a QB throw more INTs than Tds and make it? God the fans are retards.

We have to have the most "pro bowlers" ever for a team that didnt make the playoffs ughh.

just the same old jets

It's all Chad's fault......Oh wait that was last year.

It's all Mangini's fault.....yeah that's the ticket!!!

Well i was a die hard Jets fan since i was 8 years old. 10 years later and all they have done for me is disappoint. Im done with this BS. Im done with the Jets and im done with football. I would never root for another team so im just not watching football anymore. No matter how much money they spend, who they bring in and who they plan they always manage to lose. I went to the game tonight and Favre sucked! I'll still roam this board but im honestly done with the Jets.

Ellis dangled a sack of weed on the sideline and broke Ricky's focus.

This is what a creative offense looks like

against a high school defense, it works

Just
End
The
Season

Does anyone else notice how defalted the Jets have looked in this tailspin once they get down by even one score and God forbid two, especially starting in the SF game. You would think they were 3 touchdowns.

All this pain and suffering could have been avoided by trusting your instincts about Mangini being a loser. C'mon, in your heart you knew he was a tool right from the start.

1. With the loss the Jets get better draft position.
2. With the loss Favre's chances of returing next year are lessened.
3. With the loss Favre won't end up throwing more intereceptions than TDs (yes I know it was close).
4. Wth the loss Mangini has a better chance of being fired (I personally don't see this happening).
5. With the loss and after two huge mistakes the Jets might actually draft a football player instead of a workout warrior.
6. With the loss the Patriots don't make the playoffs (I know we don't love the Dolphins, but with Chad that have to be disliked less than the Patriots).
7. With the Philadelphia win the Jets won't go after McNabb and might actually groom or draft a franchise QB.
8. With the loss the Jets don't have to give up a second for Favre.

So really, there were lots of positive to come out of today's game. http://www.finheaven.com/images/imported/2008/12/beer-1.gif

To look on the bright side.....At least were not Detroit

On the bright side, Jason Taylor wasn't around for today's game.
Enjoy!
Maybe more tomorrow! I'll look at the Patriots and Bills sites tomorrow to see their comments for yall.

I know you really don't mean that, how are Jets fans douche bags????? I would LOVE to see how your fan base reacts with 40 years of not winning anything. I believe we have what? 2 division titles in that time period..... We have some of the toughest fans in the sport, to be able to come back and root for this team year after year after all the the **** they put us through. This isn't even the first collaspe in Jets history. They had seasons like this, being on top of the world then falling.

I been on other teams boards and read what other teams fans thought and they say Jets fans are some of the most friendly fans to opposite teams fans in the game. Dolphin fans acting like Jets fans are scumbags is ridiculous IMO.

Just checked it. The Jets have 12 playoff appearances 4 divisional championships (2 AFC EAST Championships) 0 conference championships 1 SB title

Dolphins have 22 playoff appearances, 13 AFC east titles. 5 time conference champs, 2 SB titles...
Until proven otherwise the Jets are the ultimate underdogs EVERY season because they never had success since the late 1960s.
