Receiver: ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. said Michael Crabtree (Texas Tech), Jeremy Maclin (Missouri) and Percy Harvin (Florida) will be long gone before Miami picks, though ESPN colleague Todd McShay could see Harvin slipping. Among receivers potentially available, watch for Maryland's speedy Darrius Heyward-Bey and North Carolina's Hakeem Nicks, a playmaker with size (6-1).

Clint Sintim (11 sacks in '08) is projected in Miami's range and would be a natural fit as an outside linebacker in the Dolphins' 3-4 defense.

Sporting News draftnik/ex-Browns scout Russ Lande predicts Ohio State's James Laurinaitis ''will be there'' at No. 25 -- though some project him higher -- ''and would fit well at inside linebacker in Miami's defense.'' Lande said to keep an eye on Northern Illinois' Larry English, a skilled pass-rushing end.

Secondary: Kiper calls Missouri safety William Moore a ''big-time player'' worth considering at No. 25.

Lande said Mississippi's Michael Oher could drop. Other options: Oklahoma guard Duke Robinson and centers Alex Mack (California) and Max Unger (Oregon).

Laurinaitis is overrated. Larry English would have to stand up if we pick him. Clint Sintim, although some question his want too, has all the talent and intangibles. At 25, he will be the best player for the Dolphins.

William Moore is somebody to look at, but I feel we have a bigger need of a Pass-Rusher than in the backfield.

I would not pick an Offensive Linemen at 25.

Sintim is my choice for 25. He would be an excellent fit in our D.

Just looking at last years draft the 1st round projected wr's all dropped into the 2nd round, there's a growing trend that the wr position doesn't give great return for 1st round value except for the "can't miss top 5 players" ala Crabtree.

We need a pass rush NT and a ballhawking CB and a ILB that can create havoc during passing and rushing situations a true playmaker! Then we can address a #1 WR and OL .

I would be happy with Cushing, Sintim, or Sean Smith.

MIA's board probably has Harvin on it. They are probably eyeing S Moore with that pick. But if he is gone...could be WR Harvin or C Alex Mack, unless they like the available CBs or ILBs that are left. But don't think the CBs or ILBs that will be there grade as high. Of course, NT Raji is a top 15 pick so...

i dont see tuna taking ANY ohio state lb high in the draft after
being burned hard by bobby "bust" carpenter.

and laurentitis could be the same kind of deal. boom or bust.

if HAKEEM NICKS was drafted by the dolfins, if he could actually fall
to us, it would be a MIRACLE from the football godz!!

nice read. this actually put a spark in this depressing day.

anyone REALLY think that SINTIM is going to get past the PATRIOTS?

they are old at the lb spot [even calling in old man saeu] and were thinned
out at talent there anyways.

sintim is from the same defensive tree [through al groh] and is a NEED position
for the pats who ALSO run a 3-4.

the dolphins will NEVER GET A WIF of sintim. besides, there are OTHER 3-4
teams picing before us othe than the pats. he could be gone by them also!

NICKS!! NICKS!!! NICKS!!!
