Just saw Todd Mcshay's mock draft. He has James Laurinaitis (http://insider.espn.go.com/nfldraft/draft/tracker/player?draftyear=2009&id=23966) going to us with our first round pick. Hadn't seen it here. what does everyone think? I have no opinion because i literally have seen none of his games.

Oh man if this happend i would be so happy. Larinitious in my opinion is better than any other lb in the draft.and thats sayng something.

Dear God, I hope the Dolphins don't take him. Probably the most overrated player in this upcoming Draft. He is the second coming of Andy Katzenmoyer, and most definately a future B-U-S-T.

I'm not sure how I'd feel about the pick to be honest. Being an OSU fan, he's had his good moments, and bad moments throughout his career.

The attributes he has though, pretty much all the ones that Parcells likes (durability, size, leadership, team captain, community leader, productivity) Laurinaitis has all of them; so I wouldn't be too far thrown for a loop, but there's probably someone still on the board that I'd like more if he's there at 25.

there could be worse picks.

conversely, I believe there could be better ones.

I'd be neither overly happy, nor overlysad with the pick.

JL is probably the best LB in the draft IMO. But he wont do much in a 3-4 based defense. He is best suited in a 4-3 Tampa 2 defense. Although if we did draft him, i wouldn't be disappointed because he is a great athlete and a upgrade to our LB's.

Stay away from him. I feel he's extremely overrated, if it wasn't for his dad being an ex wwf actor no one would know him.

whatever you're smoking,i want some, cause that's some good stuff you're smoking...he disappears in big games...yeah he has good games against inferior or lower opponents, but against good quality opponents,he's nowhere to be found,or not that i've seen anyways...i say no thanx...

I wouldn't worry about it. I've read that he could run as low as a 4.4 something at the combine. His speed and huge list of accolades will get him drafted earlier than 25.

I agree. He really knows how to pile it on Youngstown State. :woot:

But really, I would be seriously ill if we took him at #25.

i'd pass. some people here judge players by what they read and some by what they've watched. i've seen osu's laurenitius 3 times. three BIG games. LSU,USC and TEXAS. frankly i don't get the hype.he was invisible. he was probably the 4th best LB on the field vs.USC.

If I had a gun pointed to my head and the man holding the gun told me the following: "You have only two choices at #25. You can either choose Ohio State LB James Laurinaitis. Or you can choose Hawaii LS Jake Ingram. If you refuse to pick either, you will die." Knowing all of that, I would pick the LS. At least there's a good chance he'll last longer in the NFL than Laurinaitis.

I think that some people are overstating the overratedness of Little Animal. He is overrated, but he's not as bad as some of ya'll make him out to be.

and before anybody attacks me, remember I am a Michigan fan. I hate Little Animal. I was calling him Pile Jumper and overrated long before it was cool. yo posers

Thats a bit harsh regarding Katzenmoyer. He suffered a serious neck injury and decided walking was better than a wheelchair. Injuries happen. It wasn't as thou Katzenmoyer stunk it up.

Agreed. I view his draft stock very much like Paul Posluszny a few years back. At one point he was considered a top 15 pick, and slid a little ways into the 2nd round; and he looked to be pretty decent returning from that gruesome broken arm.

As I said before, Laurinaitis checks all the Bill Parcells requirements of sized, durability, productivity (those his #'s are a bit inflated), team captain, good leader, and he's fairly athletic.

Katz was also a freak athlete, that wasn't too bright. The injuries played a factor in his early retirement, but he struggled picking up the playbook.

Little Animal is not a freak athlete, but he's pretty smart.

I HATE YOU ALL FOR MAKING ME DEFEND A BUCKEYE!!!

You got that right!!! He had good year the year before, but did absolutely nothing this year. I must have watched 6 OSU games this year and he did not impress me in any of them...
