Are there too many FH polls?

No: gauging a consensus of opinion and learning other fans' perspectives is helpful and enlightening

No: many more worthwhile subjects to explore than there are wastes of time and bandwidth

No: BUT some restrictions should be placed on the ability to start a poll maybe including number of past polls started, prior poll ratings, reputation ratings and/or total number of posts, etc.

Yes: the frequent rehash of the same old information, inflamed sentiments and generally "stirring the pot" for the sake of doing so, do not justify the occasional glimmers of clarity, enlightenment and knowledge to be gained

Yes: the unrestricted ability to start polls here is too frequently the equivalent of putting a drunk behind a steering wheel!

So you want to be the poll police? I personally think we should restrict as much info as possible be like some form of the state from V for vendetta.

polls are great ways to find the mass opinion rather than reading 40 replies of the same chatter everyone writes.
The great thing about polls is that you can still do everything you do in a normal thread. Type.

I honestly think there AREN'T ENOUGH POLLS and that is why i try to make them. I feel they are insightful, and you can veiw the statistics of it..

Good Poll options Vaark. Well planned polls are more successful than more vague answers confusing the voter.

Maybe we should hold an election for Finheaven President... with only one name on the ballot:up:

No, in any 3rd World Country/Banana Republic/Dictatorship..they have elections with multiple names on the ballots. The thing is, the other names on the ballots mysteriously "disappear" after the election. This happens all after the dude in charge gets about 98% of the vote.

I do have my own opinions but (what's uncharacteristic these days IMO) have made a conscious effort to keep any personal biases out of the Poll title (aside from it being a parody:hump:), offer-up a topic that hasn't already been regurgitated to death, and attempt to be as even-handed as possible in presenting a logical sequence of specific alternatives that IMO reflect the spectrum of popular sentiment.

All I'm doing is asking a legitimate question, one, for a change, which hasn't already been picked apart a hundred time -even-handedly presenting all options.

So it ain't me babe!!!

sorry FKA.. but as fetching as you are, I'm presently not open to new relationships - as a matter of fact, mostly as far as the old ones are concerned, I've left my friends behind. :hump:

Well, burrowed deep in the bowels of this section, I don't expect there'll be a barrage of additional poll respondents. So far my suspicions are confirmed: A majority enjoy the Polling option.... BUT when drilling down further, about 1/3 of those support some sort of poll-starting restrictions. Adding those restriction proponents and the 2 categories of abuse voters, nearly half (46%) of this limited sampling size opines that at the least, some policy changes should be applied in an attempt to limit the abuse, nuisance and agitation potential.
