I got a tattoo and was not pleased with how it looked after I got it so I never went back to have it finished.

All it is, is an outline of a tribal type design.

Here is the embarrassing part.

Before I went into the shop I had found a tattoo I liked, it was some guy in a porno, very cool tattoo. I googled his name and found a non xrated pic, a good pic of the tattoo.

The shop I found by word of mouth as the best in town wouldn't do it, looked at the pic and said they only did origional work.

I told them I didn't want an exact replica just something similar and could they create something from the picture.

Nope, look through this book and pick something our "artists" drew.

Now I'm stuck with an origional work of unfinished crap on my arm for over a year now. I am thinking of just having it removed and starting over.

I have a brand on my other arm (49, my football number) which a teammate gave me for free with lighters and a coat hanger and I love that one.

I'm not sure what's more embarassing ...

A "tribal" tat, or even looking at a dude in a porno.

Now that I think about it, I have the answer. Admitting to it on a message board has to be the most embarrassing.

I'm sorry bud, but why in the hell would you tattoo something on your body you didn't initially want? I have a massive amount of ink, and its all stuff I've drawn myself. You'd be better off getting a cover-up in my opinion.

On a side note, thats pretty retarded for them to say they only tattoo original work, then make you pick out a pre-drawn one the artists had on display. Thats pretty hypocritical....

Well I like watching two girls go at it but I would speculate the best selling porno is girls having penetration sex with men.

So what is embarrassing about watching porn again, I must have missed your meaning.

The fact that I noticed a man was attached to the ding a ling on the screen had a cool tattoo???????

So you yourself watch porn and see a man's wang going in and out of a woman but I notice something non sexual and you think that is embarrassing?

ya, sorry you lost me there ace, I guess I wasn't as mezmerized by his #$%@ as you apparently are.

honestly it looked better when it was small and on a computer screen than when it was blown up and on my arm.

If thats your tattoo, then its going to be easily covered by a decent artist. That would be much much cheaper than getting it removed, then getting another tattoo.....

Yes it is and thanks for your post.

That is why I started this post in the first place I was hoping someone with some tattoo knowledge would reply.

I meant to post an image of my tattoo but I was in a hurry, I probably should have waited until I had more time to post.

Here is a pic of the chap and the tattoo I liked.

As I stated earlier I didn't want an exact replica ust something similar

I like the size and area the Tatt covered and red was different.

I also stated "tribal type" because the design I chose I don't think is actually tribal, just something madeup.

Anyway, it isn't similar to what I wanted and that is why I don't really care for it.

You wouldn't be able to cover it with what that dude has, it would have to be a layered 1/2 sleeve, or at least something large enough to cover the entire area. I'd recommend getting a general idea of what you want, and having a good artist draw it up. He'll be able to design it around your current ink...

layered half sleeve, wow.....even if I wanted that much ink I doubt I could afford it.

I just have an outline on me now and it was $250

Here is my brand.....which was free :)

1-1

I love my brand, I'd get another one but I don't want my number again.

No different than college fraternities that get them. There are professionals who do branding but I don't know of any of them in my area.

........... and contrary to most peoples beliefs a brand does not hurt.....AT ALL.

I wasn't even drunk, I didn't get numbed up, didn't put vasoline on my skin just some bic lighters and a coat hanger.

It kills your nerve endings right away and it's over in 30 seconds while a tattoo took about an hour and it was a constant annoying feeling of being poked with a pin or scratched.

exactly like foycore79 said.

your the customer. they do what you ****ing want. i cant believe you let them give you something you didnt want and then you paid for it. you would have been better off just giving them your money for free. atleast then you wouldnt have to worry about removing or covering something. get some balls and stick up for yourself.

sounds like you wanted a tatto just to have a tatto. guess what. not everybody thinks you are cool for having one. especially with a story like this.

Bro, you gotta make good judgment when permanently scarring your body. Make sure you trust the people that do it. Establish a friendly relationship with your artist(s). I'm very specific about who touches my body. This goes for doctors, chiropractors, my personal trainer, all the way to the people that cut my hair and the Asian ladies that do my pedicures once a month at the spa.

If you are going to scar your body, you gotta do it right, and you gotta go strong. You can't settle for the moment. Know your guy. Examine his work. Ask questions. Otherwise, you're just another customer with another tattoo.

Let me get this straight? you went into a tattoo shop to get a tat. You brought a picture of something you liked and wanted to do that/or draw something similar but they said no and they only do "original" ? So you picked something out of their book anyways and had them do it?

Thats on you man, you should of walked out and found another shop. I have plenty of ink (just recently got one this Sat.) and my work has been done by 1 guy. Before I started going to him, I looked at all his work and talked to him to see what he was about. My tats have been pictures that I take in and they draw them. He did my Dolphins and Heat tats. That shop was BS and basically screwed u

Yeah, on my left arm I have the Dolphins and Heat, getting the Hurricanes soon. I was going to get it on Saturday but I decided to do a tribute to my newly wife who I married Saturday. She has MS and I got the logo on my chest close to my heart. No matter if we ever split up or not, when she was diagnosed to this day has been something I will never forget, we've gone through alot...

I bet so. Sorry to hear that. I have the Dolphins logo on my right arm and the U on my left arm. I also have the Black Flag logo on the back of my neck and the University of Miami's motto across my back in Old English. "Magna est Veritas" which means "Great is the Truth" in Latin. I'm probably going to get the hurricane warning flags before the season starts this year and I hope to start on my Dan Marino piece this summer. Below is the tattoo on my back and the Black Flag logo(80's Punk band). I wish I had a decent pic of my arms but the only pic I have here at work of my U looks warped lol.

Like I said in an earlier post, if you really get to know your artist and establish a relationship with that person, he'll cut you some deals in the future and touch ups are generally free. I've had my Dolphins tattoo and the U for many years and I've never paid for a touch up. The one across my back needs a touch up now but I just haven't found the time to have it done. But the same guy did all four of my current ones and I'll have him do any future tattoos as well. Life is all about networking and establishing relationships with people these days. How do you think I get so much inside information on the 'Canes lol?

guess what. not everybody thinks you are cool for having one.
My tattoo cant even be seen unless I have my shirt off so that right there disproves your "theory" I got a tattoo to be cool.

I got a tattoo because I wanted one, just like I wanted a brand on my other arm.
The tattoo I chose was an origional drawing by one of their tattoo artists so there goes another theory blown to pieces and I did like it when it was one inch by one inch in a book, on my arm blown up 5 times that size it wasn't as impressive.

Finally, I don't need a tattoo to be cool, I also I don't live my life to prove to anyone if I am cool or not that really doesn't concern me......even more than that I don't need any jack-hole on a message board to tell if I am cool or not

I will either get it finished or get it removed, in the end it's my money and I spent it as I wished and I'll spend more to make it look like I want.
