Sammie Smith. The guy looks like he's going to fumble on every play. Scary.

not boldin, nicks is 6'0, boldin is 6'3..
They are both strong bodied, sure handed though..

I'd compare him to a Donald Driver/Derrick Mason type player.. Nothing dynamic, but a hard working possesion WR..
Worst Case Scenario = Jerrico Cotchery
Best Case Scenario = Driver/Boldin fusion of styles

Boldin is 6'1". In the Lindy's draft guide they compare Nicks to Chad Johnson. This could be a pretty good comparison.

Whoever the most inarticulate WR in the NFL is. If interviews mean anything, there is no way he is drafted in the 1st round.

Chris Johnson was drafted in rd 1, too, and he obviously isn't the most articulate guy.

You can say the same thing about Emmitt Smith too, we all saw how he finished.

I like the Boldin comparison, actually. Neither player is straight line fast like a Mike Wallace. They're not going to run vertically by a CB so fast they suck the decal right off his helmet.

Anquan Boldin is under 6'1". He's 6 feet, 0 and 5/8ths inches to be exact. When he came out, he was 216 pounds.

Hakeem Nicks is 6 feet, 0 and 3/4ths inches, weighed 212 pounds at the Combine.

Both have very strong hands and use their bodies very well to sell their fakes but I think where both really stand out is their running after the catch. Hakeem Nicks has modeled himself after Steve Smith in many ways. In many ways, after Nicks and Boldin get the ball in their hands, they look like running backs hitting a secondary...big, powerful players with leg drive, balance and a nice, low center of gravity, the ability to make moves, etc.

I can also see a Michael Irvin comparison. But, the one I would run away with right now would be Anquan Boldin. He has a lot better athleticism than what Boldin showed coming out but I think a lot of people will still tell you that when Boldin ran and performed all of those drills so poorly, he had been sick just prior to that and was still suffering and I think he performed better in private workouts.

Thanks for that.

I was going to say Michael Irvin befpre CK beat me to it. Nicks ran better at the combine then I thought he would. He runs his routes so precise which makes him faster in game speed.

I don't see the Boldin comparrison as Boldin is more likely to take a 5 yard slant to the house while Nicks gets done the field and makes a catch in traffic and than houses it

Both players run like powerful, balanced and quick running backs after the catch. Both players are almost exactly the same size. Both players lack elite straight line speed. That is why the Boldin comparisons are right on the mark.

Chad doesn't have elite speed but he's got great ability to get vertical and I'm not sure that's an element of Nicks' game that I'd hang my hat on. Nicks is all about selling good routes, and RAC. Get him within 5 yards of the end zone, and he won't be denied.

dang sorry for stating he was 6'3, i would have bet money on that fact.

I think they play similar, and height was my only major variable.. But seeing that they are the same size, this looks like our chance to get a receiver as good or better than Boldin..
