Connor Barwin/DL-OLB/Cincinnati: Barwin proved himself to be first round worthy at last month's combine and on Thursday erased any remaining doubt he deserves to be a top 32 selection. Barwin improved his 40 time from Indianapolis, posting 4.48 seconds. He then put on a show for scouts in the position drills. The former tight end worked out with the offensive linemen to show his blocking prowess and with the receivers to display his pass catching skills. Barwin also did defensive line and linebacker drills. He's getting a lot of interest from teams who select in the late part of round one such as the New England Patriots (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/teams/patriots) and Miami Dolphins (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/teams/dolphins).

I see him as a mid to late 2nd rounder. Sure, his triangle numbers are excellent, but he doesn't seem to have the production you look for at his level of competition. I know he only played defense a year, but that's not a positive either. I like the kid, but not in round 1.

I agree. He is a viable option at #44, but has too many question to pick in the 1st. We have many other options with less question marks to target in the first.

Hmmm....seems he has more playing time at football than Matthews. As far as production, 15.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks and seven pass breakups...seems to me to be very productive playing for one year, at that position. You can't teach size, speed or agility but you can teach someone that has those qualities.

Good value at 44. Reach anywhere before that. He is solid, but there are others just as solid throughout the draft.

We can let the other teams battle it out for him in round one. It could give us a better shot at Maualuga. I also think that if we get Matthews he will probably play ILB for us.

Matthews was a DE in college. Why would he play ILB, he would eb batter at OLB if anything.

He was originally a LB. Because there was so much competition there (Rey, Cushing, etc.) they moved him to DE. He has the ability to play ILB though. He can play any of the LB posistions.

Most draft magazines I've read had Barwin going in the 3rd round or later. This guy must have had an amazing combine/pro day to have moved up as much as he has. I think he will be around with our 2a pick. Drafting him in round 1 would be a bit of a reach especially since you cannot be certain he is going to be a sure thing starter in the NFL.

Conner Barwin's versatility (TE OLB, DE for 4-3 teams) alone will get him drafted in the 1st round. My guess is that if Darius Butler gets drafted b4 #25 then he would be in strong consideration for the Dolphins to select. He won't get past Tennessee towards the end of the 1st round. Not a chance he falls to #44.

He is not an NFL TE, so his versatility isnt really that big of an asset, nevermnd get him drafted in the first. he is a second round prospect, anywhere before that is too early.

He is 6'4" 256lbs. has great hands and runs great routes, has run in the 4.4's on several occasions and runs consistently in the 4.5's but you say he can't play TE in the NFL??????????????????????????????

I think some of you need to stop and listen to the thoughts in your own head for awhile before you write.

Somebody wrote that they liked his triangle numbers but he lacked production. Do you know what you sound like???????

He lead the Big East in sacks. He had 16 TFL,7PBU's, and 3 blocked kicks as well as being known for his IQ, fantstic instincts, and nonstop motor.

You might as well face it. He doesn't have any weakness's. All he lacks is experience.

And as far as comparing Clay Matthews to Conor Barwin, it's a joke, Barwin surpasses Matthews in almost every aspect of the game and in most areas it isn't even close, especially in their stats.

^Man Crush Much?? The guy is a second round talent, who may go late first. Dont confuse him for a true number one round talent.

Prior to his proday...he was rated in the low 40's in this draft...after the proday he is now rated in the low 30's...by draft day....he'll be in the late first round.

I see NE taking Barwin to replace Vrabel.

And Barwin will be a star in this league with the Pats.
