A police officer apologized for a traffic stop involving an NFL player whom he kept in a hospital parking lot and threatened to arrest while his mother-in-law died inside the building.

(http://cbs11tv.com/local/Ryan.Moats.Delayed.2.969925.html)"I wish to publicly and sincerely apologize (http://cbs11tv.com/local/Ryan.Moats.Delayed.2.969925.html) to the Moats family, my colleagues in the Dallas Police Department, and to all those who have been rightfully angered by my actions on March 18, 2009. After stopping Mr. Moats' vehicle, I showed poor judgment and insensitivity to Mr. Moats and his family by my words and actions. With great remorse I accept my responsibility for adding to their grief in an already difficult time.

Not good enough

The good thing about this is Moats never once said…’do you know who I am?’ This police officer completely out of line and for him to say he didn’t do anything wrong shows he’s an azz. He should be ashamed of himself. Once he saw they were going into a hospital ER, he should have just let it slide. Where is his sense of decency? If he doesn’t get it, he shouldn’t be working. Period.

Nowhere near close to good enough. A PBA authorized/authored appoligy is not good enough.
