If you could only listen to bands that started with 1 letter in the alphabet, what letter would it be and why. Ipod rules only. Meaning any bands starting with the word "the" don't count as "t" and the first letter of the band or musician is what counts. In other words, Jimi Hendrix would be a "j" and not an "h".

I'll take the letter "s". I'd get...

Soundgarden
Sly and the Family Stone
Stone Temple Pilots
The Strokes
Sex Pistols
Seal
Stevie Wonder
Sigur Ros
The Smiths
Sonic Youth
Strapping Young Lad
Sevendust
Saxon
Saigon Kick
Starland Vocal Band
The Spice Girls :chuckle:

and i would get to yell for Slayer any time i check out a local band!

Man that's an effed up question lol.

I might have to go with 'S' as well for the sole reason of the great Social Distortion—my all-time favorite punk band. And sense Mike Ness was the lead singer, I should also get to listen to his solo projects and have that fall under the 'S' catergory.

Just browsing thru my phone I see that I have listed under the 'S' category:

Saves the Day
Say Anything
Secret Lives of the Freemasons
Senses Fail
Sex Pistols
Social Distortion
Sounds of Animals Fighting
South Culture on the Skids
Story of the Year
Straylight Run
Subhumans
Sugar Ray

Great thread D-Day.

I'm more of a hip hop / classic rock guy. I know, strange combination. My dad got me into classic rock. His love of music got me into it. I just went another route I guess. I would take the easy road here and say the letter "T". You could nail a ton of artists, and bands or groups the start with "The". Just running through my ipod real quick I have:

T.I.Talib KweliTech N9neTha Dogg PoundThe Beach BoysThe BeatlesThe Boss Bruce SpringsteenThe DoorsThe DreamThe Four TopsThe GameThe Jackson 5The Moody BluesThe Rolling StonesThe Smashing PumpkinsThe SupremesThe TemptationsThe WhoThree 6 MafiaThree Dog NightTimberlandTom PettyTone-LocTony RichTony! Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Ramones

Rage Against The Machine
Roger Waters
Rod Stewart
