so this is basically an "i hate baseball thread." I do wish they would get their own damn building or whatever but all this non-football championshipness is annoying. the Marlins are whats wrong with the sports fans in this town.

but back to the turf... i was seriously rooting for the cubbies. i mean c'mon, they are historic. the marlins are brand new AND THEY ALREADY GOT ONE.

i won't go on for pages about all the reasons i hate baseball... especially baseball in miami... but i could.

i just want that nasty ugly dirt on our otherwise splendid football surface to go away. and i'd like all that wasted time and space in the media to go away also.

go ahead, bash me. i might start talking about how much i hate WAYNE. n#tzy b#stard.

I hate baseball cus im an oakland fan and oakland breeds baseball players and then they end up in yankee land or boston land or some other big market. its all rigged for big markets and bigger money. just my opine.

You're from FTL and you're not rooting for the Marlins? Shame on you. They are playing their hearts out and deserve everything they have gotten so far. So the Dolphins have to play one more time with an infield, who cares. The Marlins are in the SERIES!

Hey, as long as we're on this baseball thread, I just want you all to know you can all blame Eric Gagne for blowing the only f'ing save he did this year and blow the Fins chance of playing in New England this Sunday. I'm guessing I'm right here, since it's a division foe and we haven't played in the Pats place yet, we'd just move it on up there for Sunday, saving us a December trip up there. All complaints can be sent to:

I hate baseball because it is SO DAMN BORING. Each game lasts like 12 hours and they play 50,000 games per season. Who cares? All I wait for is the bench-clearing brawls.

Get the dirt off the field so people can play a man's sport!

And therefore it will not reside in the Miami Dolphins forum.

So you'd rather play 4 straight road games??

Stop whining about the schedule man. We got a pretty favorable one this year. :)

baseball should end by September. Forget playoffs, let's go old school. Highest win total gets the pennant. And while we're at it, why not have a home run derby to serve as sudden death overtime. Extra innings is crap.

Whining? I'm not really whining actually. I'm just trying to explain to the people that hates our December schedule and thinks we hate cold weather a way we could have escaped it. Doesn't matter to me where we play this week.

sounds like whining to me....and i agree while baseball is boring, the playoffs tend to be an exception, i was on the edgeof my seat all series...and by the way, the Cubs have a world series ring too.....(even if it was in 1908)

And it is being proven that baseball championships arent necessarily bought....look at the Twins and Marlins this year....two very low market teams....and the Marlins are the NL Champions with the 4th lowest payroll in MLB.

I've been saying the same thing at work at the gym, wherever and people say that I'm the only exception. Besides, I hate the fact that the MIAMI Dolphins are sacrificed for the FLORIDA Marlins.

dolphins arent being sacrificed....come on now there is only one more home game where it will be a major problem....we lost a long snapper and a backup QB (whos back now).....

get over it

Build them a stadium and or find a solution to the infield issue. Otherwise, embrace the best team in Miami. :)

get over it What guarantee are you going to give that there will be no more injuries? And what about Olindo having to kick from there.

Muck, if it were up to me I'd give the Marlins PPS and move the Dolphins back to the Orange Bowl.

I use to think Baseball was boring, but now that I am into it I like it.

BTW, do you people really want to be payin 100 million in taxes the next couple of years just so we can take that dirt infield out of PPS. Big Deal, it has never affected us until this year.

I am sick of seeing the Marlins in JRS. I want them to win this Series (although I did want the Cubs to beat them) but that stupid dirt infield pisses me off. I am going to be really ****ing mad if someone gets injured on Sunday because of it.

Well technically not true. Even though the Cubs do have World Series titles in 1907 and 1908, there is no such thing as a Cobs Worlds Champions ring. Back then a lapel pin(usually with diamonds) was given as the piece of championship jewelry. So the Cubs have never had a title ring, and niether have the Red Sox for that matter. In fact when the Red Sox last won a title in 1918, ironicly over the Cubs, there was actually a mini-strike staged during one of the games, by both teams to protest the dilution of the World Series pay shares. So after the Series ended, the Red Sox owner, Harry Frazee who would go on to sell off most of the team's good players within three years, reacted to the mini-strike by refusing to issue the championship lapel pins. So ironicly the last World Series winners in Boston got both the lowest cash payout in World Series history and no jewelry to show for it either.

Wow

You know what, that could be part of a really cool poll. I'll pose a question of that sort when I get back tonight. :)
