LOS ANGELES – USC men’s basketball coach Tim Floyd made a direct cash payment to a man who helped deliver O.J. Mayo to the Trojans program, according to Louis Johnson, a former member of Mayo’s inner circle.

Ouch.

The ncaa needs to step in and make an example of someone. All these aau coaches, agents in waiting, and father figures who associate themselves with kids for their own personal gain are really creepy.

That being said I really find it hard to believe Floyd was stupid enough to pay someone in cash and even if he was it would be almost impossible to prove. There are countless other ways to pay off these people without breaking any ncaa rules. You attend their camps and pay admission fees, give them or their family members jobs at the university, use their consulting services, etc...

USC has thought they were above the law for WAY to long.

It's been this way for USC and UCLA forever. I'm surprised it's taken until now to just catch on.

They'll just plug in another QB who'll do a similar, or possibly better job.

That's how USC works.

True. They are stacked at QB, and should have been happy with Sanchez leaving. They have the #1 high school QB from 2008, a top 5 recruit from 2007, Mitch Mustain who started at Arkansas his freshman year and then trasferred. They're not concerned about Sanchez leaving.

And Mustain is like 3rd string. They're just loaded at every position year in and year out. It's amazing.
