Isn't this topic just a tad early.

I want Bradon Spikes AND Terrence Cody.

I'd trade our entire draft next year if you gave me just those two guys. Easy to say seeing as we won't come within sniffing range of either next year since we'll be picking last in each round. ;)

However, after the season a young pass rusher might be our most glaring need. I was glad to see both of them go back to school. Not because I thought they needed to improve more (I never buy that theory because I think NFL coaches will do a better job with a player the earlier they get them, personal maturation is another thing). I am just glad to get another crack at them and make next year's pool that much deeper.

I think our top 3 picks will be on defense next year. Not because we need the youth that bad, Merling, Langford, Davis and Smith are quality young talent but because we've assembled our offense already and have the luxury of focusing on defense.

After next year's draft we'll all be drooling for a decade.

Spikes is going to be next years Jerod Meyo. He will be gone to the first 3-4 team that needs a ILB. His coverage skills are fantastic and he is a very fast player with tremendous tackling ability. That alone makes him worth a top 15 pick, but when you add in his ability to shed blocks, ooo boy.

If Miami picks him we either traded up or blew our season

he would have been taken in the first round this year - he'll be a top 5 pick next year. would love nothing more.

I would love to get Spikes. He spends time off the field studing film to learn the opposing team's offense. The guy is going to be a dominant player in NFL.

Do you guys think we'll trade up to get him if that's what it takes?

knowing how this regime operates during draft time - no way. parcells loves those draft picks. i wouldn't mind it though.
