Go Nuggets. I hope they beat Kobe and Colonel Sanders Jackson.

Denver in 7. They'd have won last night had it not been for Kobe's herculean effort...I don't know how often that's going to happen, not to mention Billups had a bit of an off-night.

Denver led by 13 and were getting all the calls. 29 attempts for denver and 11 for the lakers at one point. The Lakers front line didnt show up. Basically it was all Kobe, Denver led the entire game and STILL THEY LOST.Plus Denver have George Karl. Im changing my prediction now Lakers in 5.

:lol:LOL.Laker fan complaining about "calls".Like Kobe didnt get any horse**** calls like he usually does..Especially when he needed them in the 4th.Hell the Lakers period. And theres a reason your front line didn't show up.Give the Nuggets some credit. They are tough.

In 5?Why?If it weren't for Martins stupid foul, and the lousy free-throw percentage, Denver wins by 10.

On paper, the Nuggets are a better team. It's just a matter of them believing that they can match up and about them keeping their composure.

Kobe is still the best player in the series - as much as it pains me to say it.

That said:

Anthony + Billups > Bryant + Gasol

It'll be a great series. If the Nuggets take it, I think it'll have to be in 6.

Amars

Nuggets look like the better team. They are more physical and seem to want it more. The difference to me is Billups. In the past Fisher maybe could have held his own, but he looks done. Gasol will get worn out by the Nene/Martin combo.

For the Lakers to prevail Odom and Bynum have to start bringing it. If not, the only thing that can save LA is the refs.

Kenyon Martin has to be the dumbest player in the NBA. He makes horrible decisions, takes stupid shots, throws the ball away. The Nuggets could be up 3-0 but they just don't know how to close games out.

Either team could be up 3-0. Its been down to the last 2 min of every game. Coaching is a huge factor in this series.

I'm no Kenyon lover but in his defense, I think that coaching had a lot to do with the inbound play. It has happened too many times during this series. Kenyon has never been a great offensive player to me. He's great defensively but don't count on him to give you much scoring.

When Martin was a free agent, I was hoping that the Nuggets would have made a stronger effort to get Carlos Boozer, who was also a free agent during the same time frame. Now, I'm not a big fan of Boozer either but when you look at what it took Utah to get him signed, I would take him in a heartbeat. I think that Boozer's deal was about $64 million. K-Mart got $92 million which has been one of the worst contracts in at least Nuggets history if not the history of the NBA.

The Nuggets could be up 3-0 but they just don't know how to close games out.

Again, I think that coaching has a lot to do with that.....

You know, I never got this whole Thuggets thing. For years Denver was always bullied by much more physical teams like the Lakers and others. No one called those teams thugs. Nope, they were simply better teams than the Nuggets. Now that the tables have turned and no longer are they the soft pushover teams of the past, my Nuggets have to be the Bad Boys of old. It's hilarious! :chuckle:

Dahntay Jones was wrong for the trip and he has been penalized for his actions. I still don't think that he is a dirty player as some would have us believe. Get over it. That one play is not what lost the Lakers game 4. They were outplayed. The Nuggets wanted it more.

I don't know what you mean by they'll get theirs but you better hope your wish doesn't backfire on you. This series could go either way right now. Although, if the Nuggets play with the type of intensity that they are capable of along with some intelligence, they Lakers are in trouble. If they play inconsistent in the remaining games, then LA could pull it out in 6 or 7.

I kind of feel like we might see a smart and intense Denver team the rest of the way. This is a young team that has grown tremendously throughout this season and especially in the playoffs. Teams from previous years would have laid down after game 1 & 3. They would have began to doubt themselves. While it remains to be seen if they can win this series, one thing for sure is that this year's edition of the Nuggets is going to fight until it's over. The opinions of what other think of them be damned!

Two of those flagrant fouls are against are against the NBA Messiah, Mr. Bryant. The push in the back was hardly dirty IMO. Kobe had just started to jump and Dahntay was trying to prevent a basket. I feel that Bynum's foul on Birdman was much worse.

The trip was a poor decision on Dahntay's part but again, I still do not think that that play makes him a dirty player. No more than all off the elbows that Kobe throws makes him dirty. The only difference is player status.....

Kobe never celebrates, right? We shall see about your gaurantee....

Like I said JR Smith has done ****. He celebrate like he won the series and his team already up by alot. Do it when the game on the line. Kobe celebrate no doubt but does usually when he ices the game or wins it. Bynum foul wasnt even flagrant. Do you know what a flagrant foul is? Its when you intentionally do NOT make a play on the ball. Bynum swiped at roosterhead hands not forearm him in the chest. Jones both time didnt make a play on the ball. Stop trying to not make it seem like they werent intentional to hurt kobe. He sure wasnt playing the ball.

:rolleyes2: Please Amars! Jones was not not trying to hurt Kobe on either situation while the force of Bynum's foul could have easily caused an injury to Da Bird even though he was supposedly playing the ball.

First of all, Kobe had just started to leap when he was pushed. Mid air? Not! The trip was what it was. Jones got beat and did what he felt he could to stop Kobe from scoring. There were no bad intentions on either play. The intent was to stop a potential score not injure a player. Stop :boohoo:.......

Hey Amars,

Here's a nice quote from one of your players.....

The Lakers say they see a lot of Boston's strategies in Denver's schemes.

"They are putting a lot of guys at the basketball," guard Derek Fisher (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/nba/players/3125) said. "You get into a scoring-threat position and they are flooding a lot of guys to that area. KG always seemed to be between Kobe and the basket. Now Kenyon Martin or Chris Andersen is always in between Kobe and basket.

"At the same time, it's not as though when they do that and the ball is passed around, we're getting open shots," Fisher continued. "They are really good at contracting their defense, so when you pass it out they are still contesting the shot. Nothing is coming easy for us."

ob⋅tuse /əbˈtus, -ˈtyus/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [uhb-toos, -tyoos]

–adjective
1. not quick or alert in perception, feeling, or intellect; not sensitive or observant; dull.
2. not sharp, acute, or pointed; blunt in form.
3. (of a leaf, petal, etc.) rounded at the extremity.
4. indistinctly felt or perceived, as pain or sound.
Origin:
1500–10; < L obtūsus dulled (ptp. of obtundere), equiv. to ob- ob- + tūd-, var. s. of tundere to beat + -tus ptp. suffix, with dt > s

Obtuse Triangle:In any triangle, two of the interior angles are always acute (less than 90 degrees)*, so there are three possibilities for the third angle:

* Less than 90° - all three angles are acute and so the triangle is acute.
* Exactly 90° - it is a right triangle
* Greater than 90° (obtuse): the triangle is an obtuse triangle

In the figure above, drag the vertices around and try to create all 3 possibilities. The title will change to reflect the type of triangle you have created. (You may have to move the mouse slowly to get an angle to be exactly 90°).
* To see why this is so: The internal angles of any triangle always add up to 180°. If two angles were greater than 90° they would add to more then 180° just by themselves. Therefore this can never happen.
(Prove it to yourself - reshape the triangle above and try to get two angles to be greater than 90°).

I don't see how this applies to either one of us.:d-day:

At least we dont have to watch Wade shoot from the free throw all finals.

No, but it's still a possibility that you'll have to watch Lebron do it instead

* James’ 16.6 FTA against the Magic is currently the record for most Free Throws Attempted against an individual series, out-pacing Dwayne Wade’s infamous record of 16.2 FTA against the Dallas Mavericks in the 2006 Finals.

* James’ 14.5 FTA is currently the Record for most Free Throws Attempted in the post-season, out-pacing Michael Jordan at 13.5 FTA.

* James’ 11.2 FTA Career per game is currently an NBA Playoff Record tied with Shaquille O’Neal.

* James’ 188 FTA in 13 games played is the most FTA ever attempted in a 13 game stretch. To gauge the sheer concept of this record – Kobe Bryant last year attempted a league-leading 194 FTA in 21 games. James’ has already accumulated 188 FTA in playing only 13 games – that's 8 games less than Bryant. By the time, LeBron plays his 14th game, he would have already supplanted the previous high of last season's Playoffs by less than 7 games.

* James currently is also on pace on breaking records for the fastest player to reach highs of FTA - records currently held by Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal. James, by the way, has already broken two of those records.

* James is also the only player to currently have a chance of reaching 300 FTA in the Playoffs, something that has never ever been done in the NBA.

Howard made a huge steal off Kobe in the last minute. Kobe played poorly in the 4th. I wouldn't want to face him in game 4. Yikes.

Orlando sets the record with over 62% shooting from the floor. That and Kobe didn't close out the game like he can.....and they only won by four points?

Good game by the Magic, but they will have to repeat that shooting percentage in every game if they want to win this Championship.......and that ain't happening.

Good game by the Magic, but they will have to repeat that shooting percentage in every game if they want to win this Championship.......and that ain't happening.

I wouldn't say that. For that to happen the Lakers would also have to sustain above 50% shooting, and even then there's no guarentee, should the Magic outrebound, or turn the ball over less.. or get to line more. There's a lot more intangibles than shooting % that decide a game.

They were one missed layup from winning game 2, the Magic only shot 42%, while the Lakers shot 46%. Game 3 was the Lakers best shooting performance.

Foul shooting does not mean even. You guys basicly hack on Dwight every time the ball is thrown into the low post and they call it maybe half the time? If one team actually fouls more often than the other, but the free throws are even, does that mean the game is being called even? No.

Howard been hacked just as much as Gasol and they have not been called. Howard been living on the line. He's been the leading FT shooter every game except for game 2 which he had 2 less then Gasol. Other then that he nearly double then any player for the Lakers on the FT line. I forgot you're Heat fan and love winning a championship with ticky tack fouls shooting 25+ FT a game.

Did you see how close they are playing Kobe? It is no wonder he was tired in the 4th quarter in game 3. He had to fight off every defender who was leaning on him.

They are letting them bang, which is fine with me, but they should be consistant on both ends, and I think they have. My only complaint is they seem to miss too many close up and obvious calls - right in front of the refs, on both ends.

getting fouled 9 times a game (18 FT's - pretty close to 20+) is a pretty decent amount - and he hasn't been in the act of shooting every time so it's not like he goes to the line every time he gets fouled - so i don't know how much more weight your argument carries. let's just hope we see a good game tonight - the last two have been phenomenal.

There were plenty of no calls on both sides.

How about this - Howard 4 fouls. Bynum, Gasol and Odom 14 fouls.

The Magic got their fair share of calls.

And don't be surprised of Petreus sits on the bench in game 5.

The Magic were outplayed and outcoached.

of course the haters only notice Kobe non call but not their own players. JJ Reddick should of got at least a foul call maybe even a Flagrant foul on Ariza layup with a dirty push in the back on the layup when he got burned. Howard non goaltending call on the block which bounce off the glass first. Howard non foul called for elbowing Gasol and shoved him against the floor but instead Fish got called for a foul. Magic lived at the foul line the lakers

Either way 30seconds to go and by 5 and the Magic still lost. Cant blame the refs for that. 19 free throw attempts by the magic in the 4th ZERO free throw attempts by the lakers in the 4th. Everyone can just stop that stupid argument that kobe is always getting the calls.

So are you saying that Kobe saw Jameer and deliberately smashed his elbow into his face? Cmon man, Kobe the best player in the league and the hardest working, most aggressive player. Has he hit people when trying to make contact foul yes. Like the Ginbolli foul was bad. This play Kobe was turning and Jameer was approaching him. He was not next to him. If Jameer wasnt 5'10" he wouldnt of hit his chin. Dre already put video of kobe so called elbows which most where phantom elbows and more aggressiveness. Either way that aint the reason the Magic lost. Hit a free throw.

So are you saying that Kobe saw Jameer and deliberately smashed his elbow into his face?

He's got eyes, doesn't he? :chuckle:

What I am saying is that Kobe has a tactic of using his elbows to clear space. It has happened too much for it to be coincidental...

Cmon man, Kobe the best player in the league and the hardest working, most aggressive player.

He is arguably the best player in the league. He is a hard working player. And, he is definitely aggressive! Just check out the bows.....

Has he hit people when trying to make contact foul yes. Like the Ginbolli foul was bad.

Yes, Ginobili was bad. That elbow on Artest had nothing to do with him trying to make a contact foul. The one on Battier, along with the knee to the face that he also served, had nothing to do with him trying to make a foul either...

This play Kobe was turning and Jameer was approaching him. He was not next to him. If Jameer wasnt 5'10" he wouldnt of hit his chin.

Jameer had already approached him and had his arms extended in the air. Kobe then turned and hit him in the chin with the bow. He lead with his elbow. Jameer didn't walk into it. Height had nothing to do with it. If it had not hit him in the chin then he would have just been elbowed in another location.....

Dre already put video of kobe so called elbows which most where phantom elbows and more aggressiveness.

Big Bro, own up to your player. Kobe throws bows and does so on the regular. He's a great player but he uses his elbows and he knows he does it!

Either way that aint the reason the Magic lost. Hit a free throw.

I agree with you here but I have already admitted as much in a previous post. Kobe still has some very dirty tendencies and you need to accept that.....

Kobe is an aggressive player. When you guard him you can expect that. He uses everything he can to his advantage. There is a space around every player that is that players right to move around within, that includes the space to move the ball around from one side of the body to the other, or to move and/or turn when being defended without the ball. Kobe never gives up that space, nor should any player, it is his space and he has every right to move within that space. If you head is inside that space...watch out. I don't think it is malice aforethought on Kobe's part. I just think he plays aggressive and if you stick your noggin in that space you may get wacked by an elbow ( spelled elbow guys). I think the Artest elbow was a little more deliberate, and the foul was called, although the next day. Hey if you want to guard Kobe, and lean and hang all over him, then you better be careful because he is a physical player! I just don't think calling him a dirty player is right. There are far more dirty players in this league, past and present, that deserve that title, not Kobe. At least not yet!

Moving around in that space is cool but throwing bows to make space? As far as calling him a dirty player goes, if does intentional things, like dropping bows, that are really frowned upon by the league than you have to admit that the dirty tag might apply to some degree. Overall, he is an outstanding player. I have no problem admitting that. It seems that most Laker fans are unwilling to admit that Kobe has his faults and also that he does get away with many things would clearly be called if he were not Kobe. That being said, the Magic were not ready for this series.

At least not yet!

yeah, i won't call it - or him - dirty or deliberate but it was still a foul any way you look at it. and i definitely won't say it it decided the game - the game was decided by the magic's poor performance at the line. that is just unacceptable in the freakin finals.

the lakers are the better team - hard to argue with that. their veteran leadership has been clutch in the finals. the magic are still young and developing - they haven't reached their ceiling quite yet. i won't ***** and moan b/c every game has been very exciting since the game 1 debacle and the magic had every chance in the world to take each of those games.

but kobe is still in my top 3 most hated in the league - right there with 'the flopper king' ginobili and 'punch you in the ribs as you drive to the hole' hamilton.

Yeah I think the Magic have a nucleus of what they need to be a great team, Championship caliber. Howard as good as he is is still not as versatile as he could be with a little more help from Ewing. Add some more shots to his game, Shoot better free throws, become a better passer, although he did make some great improvements in this series alone. I think getting better team mates around him, or at the very least get those existing team mates to get him the ball when he is open and ready for it. How many times did we see him frustrated after working so hard to get free and not getting the ball or getting it too late?

Also....turnovers. As great as Howard is....how many turnovers did he have last night? Unnaceptable. That is something he needs to work on most definitely.

I think if I were the Magic front office I would go out and get a power forward that can spot up the jumper, but more importantly take the ball into the lane and to the basket. Outside of Howard and a few moments of lax defense, the rest of the Magic are jump shooters.

I also think Stan VG isn't the best coach. 11.1 seconds to go, you're up 3, and you don't foul Kobe on the inbound? Give me a break!

I think the Magic are now a seasoned playoff and finals team, and now have the feeling of what it is like to get there and not finish the job, kinda like the Lakers last year. They won't forget this series. They will be back in the finals next year I am sure, although Boston may have something to say about that when Garnett is healthy once again.

Magic straight up blew game 4. The Lakers didnt shoot a single FT in the 4th quarter or overtime (compared to like 18 or so for for Orlando) until the Gasol flagrant when the game was already over. The Lakers won. Cant blame this one on the refs.

I hate that the Lakers won, but I'm glad the Magic lost. Hopefully the Heat can win another one in the near future.

Congrats to the Lakers....I just hope they crash on the way home...Just Playing.:D They played a good series. Champs.

I think the Magic have a lot to build upon for this year with a lot of potential to become a dominant team in the next few years as long as they improve as opposed to falling off.

We have a pretty young team and a lot of room to improve. We have not began to approach our full potential.
Stan Van Gundy is also still pretty young in his career as a head coach and I think he has definetly learned some lessons from this series. It's all about how well they bounce back from this.

Anyways, good season.

I LOL-ed..That and the Malcom X hat Phil wore.Im late.Enjoy the moment Laker fans.

Til next season.:chuckle:

This was a pretty damn good Laker team. I think Phil Jackson created some obstacles along the way to harden this team up for the Finals. He knew what he was doing when the Rocket series went seven games.

The only thing that could have sunk this Laker team was softness but this team was battled tested by the beginning of the WCF.
