Does anyone know how to make Internet Explorer open up a new tab whenever you click a new link or when you type in a new address? I have Vista.

I have been using Slimbrower for a long time now but it doesn't work so well anymore. It is really slow or crashes with quite a few websites. Thanks.

This probably doesn't help you but I noticed my Firefox has recently not been going directly to new tab when I click a link like it used to.

It might just be that I haven't been on any other site than FH for a long time but i'm pretty sure something changed.

First, use Firefox.

Next? No idea. I am a recent Firefox convert and it's unreal the difference.

Go to menu bar and select Tools

Internet Options

In the General tab, under Tabs , click Settings.

In the window that opens, select Always open pop-ups in a new tab

So I click tools. There is no internet options but there is an options. From there I can click on the tabs icon at the top but there is no settings or anything like that. I have looked all over and can't find anything like that.

BTW, thanks for the help.

I've used both and I believe the newer IE programs do have the tab features you mentioned. Maybe you should download a newer edition?

a newer version of what? IE or Firefox. I just downloaded Firefox yesterday. Wouldn't it be the newest?

I use Firefox but have in the past seen IE versions with the tab feature(my old job only had IE available). Tho, I'd recommend FF. Sorry for the confusion.

firefox and the tabmix plus extension.
also must have extensions, noscriipt and adblock plus.
creates a whole new world compared to the nightmare of IE.

I figured it out. Lets see how it works.

ok. It's almost working the way I want it. Now everything in firefox opens in a new tab. I don't want that. I only want it to open a new tab when I type something in the address or google bar.

Can we do that with it?
