I have to say Mark Lanegan of Screaming Trees. If only for the fact that he is still making great music now, unlike Cornell or Vedder, who are releasing sub standard music these days. Alice in Chains' early stuff was a bit too c**k rock in places and Cobain was just a poster boy for grunge really. Not even going to mention Weiland.

All great singers from great bands but Lanegan is the only one left that is still making vital music...IMHO.
