ALBANY, N.Y. -- Eli Manning (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=5526) has agreed to a new six-year, $97.5 million contract extension with the New York Giants (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=nyg) that will make him among the highest-paid players in the NFL with an average salary of roughly $15.3 million, a source told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.

Definatately overpaid, but what can you do. Franchise QB's don't grow on trees. This isn't going to sit well with my Giant's fan buddies, they hate Eli and his inconsistency.

Yea he is a solid starter, but he gets more than his brother peyton, who is arguably the best QB in the league, and i can think of around 20 qbs who are better than him.

Giants are probably happy to just hold onto him than going through the process of finding another QB.

No way Eli is worth that much, his career QB rating is only around 74.5, not $97.5 material.
