Eagles | Ingram suffers torn ACL
Sat, 08 Aug 2009 13:13:31 -0700
Jeff McLane, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Eagles (http://www.kffl.com/team/29/nfl) TE Cornelius Ingram (http://www.kffl.com/player/20535/nfl) (knee) has suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Maybe, but who knows if he would have torn it here?

Thats the chances you have to take when you draft players coming off injuries.

He is a good kid with a lot of athletic ability. Tough break, I was really hoping he could put the injury behind him, but it looks as though his NFL dream is over.

Rarely do ga*tors make it at the NFL level anyways. Hopefully next year we'll draft a decent ILB as well.

:possum4286: LMAF. Nice try. Thanks for the wasted space. :lol2:

Now give me a list of those players who are actually relevant to their team (aka start). Then lets make the list even smaller and state the Pro Bowl players from Florida. Here we go, I'll save you some time. Let's have some fun and compare Pro Bowl players from UM and UF from the past 10 years, 00' to 09':

First up Florida (this is easy):

2000: Javon Kearse
2001: Javon Kearse
2004: Lito Shepard
2005: Mike Peterson
2007: Lito Shepard
2008: Fred Taylor

Yep, that's it ga*tor fans. Only 5 players have made the Pro Bowl in the past 10 years.

Now Miami:

2000: Total - 7
Edgerrin James
Leon Searcy
Ray Lewis
Tremain Mack
Cortez Kennedy
Warren Sapp
Jessie Armstead

2001: Total - 4
Edgerrin James
Ray Lewis
Warren Sapp
Jessie Armstead

2002: Total - 5
Ray Lewis
Ryan McNeil
Bubba Franks
Warren Sapp
Jessie Armstead

2003: Total - 4
Bubba Franks
Jeremy Shockey
Warren Sapp
Clinton Portis

2004: Total - 5
Andre Johnson
Edgerrin James
Ray Lewis
Ed Reed
Dan Morgan

2005: Total - 4
Andre Johnson
Ed Reed
Edgerrin James
Dan Morgan

2006: Total - 5
Edgerrin James
Jonathan Vilma
Santana Moss
Jeremy Shockey
Ray Lewis

2007: Total - 8
Andre Johnson
Reggie Wayne
Ray Lewis
Ed Reed
Frank Gore
Jeremy Shockey
Sean Taylor
Devin Hester

2008: Total - 8
Sean Taylor
Devin Hester
Willis McGahee
Reggie Wayne
Kellen Winslow
Vince Wilfork
Ed Reed
Ray Lewis

2009: Total - 7
Clinton Portis
Jon Beason
Jeff Feagles
Andre Johnson
Reggie Wayne
Ed Reed
Ray Lewis

See what I'm getting at. Now that's an impressive list of players who have not only an impact on their teams but also in the NFL. I could give you the list of current Hurricane players on NFL rosters, but I'm sure you know where to find it and that seems pretty irrelevant now doesn't it.

My point was and still is that Florida just doesn't produce quality NFL players.

not comparing miami and UF - because you guys obviously (used to at least) have more 'quality' players in the league, but you're being a bit harsh. reggie nelson isn't quality? kevin carter isn't quality? peterson? davis? crowder? brown? i didn't know you had to make the pro bowl to be a quality player. huh.

it doesn't matter anyway. UF is definitely on the upswing while miami is ... well ... you know. we have 6 guys - just on D - that might go in the 1st round next year. how many will miami have?

Yeah, I know Im harsh. What do expect. I had to live the past 5 years in ga*nesville. I consider myself the driver of the ga*tor Hater bandwagon. Though I'll disagree with you saying UF is on the upswing. I'd say Miami is on the upswing (fingers crossed) while Florida is already up there.

6 guys in the 1st rd. Really? I'll give you Brandon Spikes/mid 1st rd, Carlos Dunlap/mid 1st rd, Tim Tebow/mid - late 1st rd (depending on how he performs under center this year) & Joe Haden/late 1st rd - early 2nd. Major Wright/2nd rd, Aaron Hernandez/ 2nd rd, Jermaine "Jimmy Johns" Cunningham is a 2-3 rd pick and the Pouncey brothers are 3rd rounders as well. Maybe 4 1st rounders if both JR's (Dunlap, Haden) leave early. Still not very impressive with the possibility of 21 players, including 12-15 starters, leaving for the NFL. Which should remind you to enjoy this year and relish the past b/c the ga*tor dynasty will be over very soon. There will ba a lack of talent in ga*nesville in 2011 with Shannon running the table on So Flo recruits

You did not say that they had to be Pro Bowlers. You stated that they didn't make it in the league and that is a falsehood. But should I expect anything less than from someone educated at Miami.

Yeah... because UM is such a bad school.

That list had maybe five players who have been top-tier guys in this league and two of them (Fred Taylor, Jevon Kearse) are well into their 30's. Aside from Emmitt Smith, Florida can't really brag about much success at the NFL level.
