I am looking to buy my wife a MP3 player soon. I figured I would get her an IPod but I don't know much about mp3 players at all.

Is the ipod the best one to get? If so, which one would be a good one to get for around a $200 price range?

If you have an ipod, do you have to buy i tunes or can you use your own mp3s?

I was looking at this one.

iPod's are great. I have an iPod touch myself, absolutely love it. So yes I would suggest one. As for iTunes, it is free. iTunes is a media player that you use to put the mp3's onto your iPod, though I prefer to use an addon I have installed for Windows Media Player. So yes, you can use your own mp3's.

Last I checked, the 120 GB versions went for $250. They are actually going for $225 on Amazon.

The 120gb version that I posted there? The touch?

Are you sure it's not a china knock off?

I don't even see a 120gb on amazon of any type of ipod.

They don't make a 120GB iPod touch, they make a 120GB iPod classic. They run for around 250 last I checked.

No China knockoff, the classic iPod 120 GB goes for about 250 retail, 225 online. The 120 GB Zune goes for about the same price.

That should be enough for you. 120 GB would take a lot of music to fill. My 120 GB Zune is full, but that is largely pornography.

As Wayward said, definately not a knockoff. You can get the 120GB on the Apple website for $250

Definately. Damn things fit 30,000 songs. Hell, I can't find a way to fill up half my 120GB Xbox 360 harddrive, so I can't imagine filling up a 120g iPod

I thought he meant a 120 touch.

Ok. So which would you guys go for?

The 120gb classic for $250 or the 16gb touch for $299.

I know that most will say go for more storage but do you really need that many songs on there at one time? 500 songs at one time would be overkill IMO. That would still leave plenty of room for three or four movies and tons of pics on the 16gb right?

The screen is an 1" bigger on the touch. It also has built in wi-fi.

I have a 16G touch and I love it. 120G is way too much storage for me.

By the way, greeting from Roanoke. Good to see more VA fin fans on here :woot:

That is the one I am leaning to.

Greetings to you too by the way. We are only about two hours away. Are you gonna try to go to the panthers game? It's rare they get that close it us. I am going for sure unless something happens.
