Chuckle!

How about we give Henne the same game opportunities before we say Jackson's actually any better? I personally don't want Jackson anywhere near our team.

For real. Favre changes his mind so much, he just might go back into retirement mid season.

Maybe the Vikings should ask the Jets about how it worked out when they released Pennington.

Henne>Jackson

You guys are in denial. Henne sucks. That's why the fins should at least look into the trade.

Jackson has proven he can play... maybe we should drop White and pick up TJ. Better cut our loses now before we have an opportunity to be disappointed.

Give me a break.

How does Henne suck?? Are you a mind reader all of a sudden. Get real, Jackson is the 1 that sucks. He is so bad that the Viks brought in Sage Rosenfels to comete with him. Yes, thats right the great Sage Rosenfels! Did you see Jackson is the playoff game vs the Eagles this past year? He was 15-35 with one pick and only 165 yards. Wow, great stats there buddy.

The Vikings will need him when they realize Favre sucks

petefins, in your analysis of both Henne ad Jackson, please give us your opinion on why Jackson is better...rather than chucking out baseless comments.

You do realize TJax is one of the bottom QB's in the league...right? He was blessed with being put on a team with amazing talent around him, and he lead them no where, fast. He failed miserably in their one playoff game as a starter, and was so unreliable to the Vikings coaching staff that they picked up Sage Rosenfield to push for the start.

Shopping Tavaris Jackson was decided as soon as Favre signed.

You can't have a split locker room. You must cut the returning starter. No questions asked.

This is the Favre effect. The Jets were forced into the same situation. While we obviously were the benefactors, it still doesn't imply the Jets made the wrong move by cutting Pennington.

Signing Favre was the Jets' mistake. Once that happened, Pennington had to go.

The same for Minnesota. Once Favre was signed, Tavaris was sent packing. Sage is safe because he wasn't there last year. There is no loyalty within the locker room for him. Tavaris went to battle with these guys for a few years. Win or lose, that commands respect.

Thus, the net result of the Favre effect is blowing up your QB position to make a title run. You're completely destroying your QB1 and QB3 positions.

Bringing in Favre means the orgization is completely focused on winning a Super Bowl. All hands on deck. Thus, you jettison your QB1 to make room for him and divert the resources from your QB3 in order to focus all efforts on "here and now".

Typically, a team bringing in Favre has already decided their QB3 is undevelopable. Otherwise he would be given a chance to start. So, by signing Favre you pin your entire QB position's efforts on 1 man for 1 year.

Look at NY this year... Sanchez wasn't just the best QB on their roster... he was their ONLY QB on the roster. Clemens is now what he was then, QB2.

Instead of having the luxury of developing Sanchez for a year, they were forced to play him now.

Next year, Minnesota will be forced to give up most of their draft picks to climb into the Top 5 or 10 in order to draft Favre's replacement or have to pay some perverse amount to trade for an up and coming QB that has shown potential but can't be shelved by his current team any longer. Or a vet that has paid his dues and is ready to resurface or emerge from the shadows.

Leinhart, Siorgi, Vick, Volek and Simms comes to mind.

If Tavaris wants to see the field again.... he should become acclaimated with this word... "Wildcat".

Why should we consider trading something of value for Jackson when Quincy Carter is out there for our taking?
