WTF is wrong with Crabtree! I mean the guy is whant assing about 16 million garneted money as well as losing a years experience in the league. What a flaming douche bag in my opinion what other career does he have a chance to make that kind of money in that amount of time. Some people just need to learn a few things about life in general.

I hope the 49ers start taking money away.

He thinks he will get drafted in the top 5 next year. He'll be lucky to get drafted in the top 2 rounds next year if he holds out this year.

How big of a moron do you have to be to turn down $16M in favor of not playing football for a year and hoping to be picked higher the next? He deserves whatever he gets. If he blows out a knee between now and then, he doesn't have my sympathy. And if someone picks him in the 1st round next year, they are bigger morons than Crabtree

Think he has some people around him giving him bad advice, which I think is partly responsible for this.

I would take the contract now because I got a feeling he might fall in the second round next year. He won't be able to participate in combines/meet with other teams/work outs or anything till Draft Day when he gets picked up by another team. Not sure what's his income now but I'm pretty sure sitting on your *** for a year won't help your athleticism.

When I saw all the diamonds this guy wore to the draft I had a feeling he would be an issue but nothing nearly this bad. Only thing worse than what hes doing right now are all the fans wanting to trade for this douche.

Crabtree is a moron. I hope he blows out a knee or breaks his neck between now and the 2010 Draft.

Sounds like Crabs read his own press clippings, surrounded himself with a bunch of low class shuxters, and then wonders why he's not getting paid....Talk about overestimating your own worth....

Maybe somebody is promising to pay more if he reenters the draft...I couldn't imagine any other scenario of why he would carry on like this other than being just plain ignorant.

I cant imagine another team using a top 10 pick on him next year. I hope it isnt us. Somebody in his life with good sense needs to sit him down and bring him to reality.

Personally its his life and he is not hurting anybody. Was a great college football player and would not mind him being a dolphin. He just comprehend how jacked up the draft can go. The draft is not about who is the best player and yes the difference in contracts is pretty jacked up but what can u do.

the guy is just the next in a series of overhyped rookies who has begun to believe the hype surrounding them.

Al Davis.......:chuckle:

Problem is, Al Davis is the idiot who passed him up in this year's draft and took another receiver out of nowhere. I don't think Crabtree can even count on him.

Believe it or not, it would be just like Bellichek to somehow get this guy and then make the rest of the league wish they picked him up when he turns out to useful in NE.

Either that, or Jerry Jones would, and he can pay him since the NFL won't have a salary cap next year.

I hope to see a rookie cap negotiated into the next CBA. The whole rookie salary structure is out of whack and all it does it takes away money from the more proven guys. I'd love something similar to what the NHL has, where rookies can get some decent bonuses, but top picks are still bargains for the first few years.

I thought about this very point. Wouldn't be funny as hell if he ended up getting drafted next year in the top 5 but the NFL put a Rookie Cap in place hahahaa.

If that situation played out it would be one of the funniest ****ing things I would have be privileged to watch in years.

Funnier than Maurice Clarett? Actually, much more so.

Personally I hope he keeps holding out. We can then trade a pick for him and there is little chance anyone holds out two years in a row lol. Hell we trade a 2nd round pick for him and get him to take the contract that SF offered him in the first place.

I don't know what they offered to him or what he want but the NFL is a business. People are being too hard on Crabtree and not hard enough on his agent. Contracts are not guaranteed so I don't really blame him but I do think this needs to be resolved soon.

He was offered five years and $20 million, with a reported $16 million guaranteed. No one says TEAM for anyhting under 25 million anymore!

I said it before in other threads, but ultimately an agent is responsible to the player and smart players have realized many times before that they were just an asset that an agent was willing to gamble on in order to get the most reward, but the repercussions of failure were much more serious for the player involved and so they brought in an agent that would better represent their interests and sent the one who was balking on a hike.

Unfortunately, Crabtree isn't smart. I hate NFL agents, but at the end of the day the player's are the ones who have the final say and they deserve responsibility.

Its hard to say i wouldn't want fair value for my services but what Crabtree is doing is retarded. He is basically coming out and saying "I should have been drafted higher, i want to be paid like i was"... guess what sir you weren't, because Al Davis is a moron, or becuase teams were hesitant to pick up TO jr... you werent. your being offerd fair money, take it and get on the field.

If im the 9erns im dropping the offer with each game missed.
