I wasn't impressed at all; it seemed like a very typical album. Pretty below average for Jay-Z, and I'm not even really a fan. His interview on Letterman promoting it was pretty funny, though:

Jay-Z is the only rapper I can honestly stand. He's my favorite of all time.

My favorite album is probably "The Blueprint" the first one he did

Eh ,my interest in the Camel faded after Hard Knock Life...Ive been around pretty much since the inception of rap& hip-hop,and I can't find anyone more overrated.I enjoy good rap music beats and lyrics to go along with style, but Jay-Z,eh...

Heres Jay getting waxed on his own ish....

My brother and I debate this enough,so say what you will.I just don't like the camel!!

Like I said, I'm not a big fan. One of my favorite tracks ever is Ether (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiOv37e1a7Q). Nas kills him.

Mine too..and he got mashed in that whole battle too.Nas was way too much for him to handle...It was over after 'Ether'.

Let's face it, Jay hasn't been the same since his retirement. 'American gangster' was terrible and the Blueprint 3 was even worse.
His verses on 'Run this town' were horrendous. Rihanna and the beat make that track.
He needs to switch up his flow... he keeps using this 'we are... yes i said it we are' flow on every song now. It's awful. I was very disappointed with this album.

I listened to Reasonable doubt yesterday (as i regularly do) and it saddens me to hear how good he was and how terrible he is now.

yeah i agree reasonable doubt was awesome, blueprint 3, not the same, but a lot better than american gangster, and life and times of shawn carter vol 3, i have a theory after your 3rd or 4th album stop making music because the suck
