The Chargers' defensive players were "put on notice," according to beat writer Kevin Acee.

Acee reports that defensive coordinator Ron Rivera has made all jobs (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=3171#) up for grabs during the team's bye week. If you saw Rivera screaming at his defense during the Pittsburgh debacle, you believe Acee. Also, Acee says that general manager A.J. Smith is on the phone trying to make a deal. Shawne Merriman makes sense as one guy that might be on the trading block.

I dont care what it take if miami could get Shawne Merriman In a dolphins Uniform that would be huge the guy is one of the best Pass rushers in the nfl. Thoughts?

He has been one of the best pass rushers in the NFL but I don't know if he is any more. I wouldn't want to see Miami pay a lot for him and I imagine he's going to cost a lot. Therefore, I kind of hope Miami doesn't pursue him.

Has been very average this season and it seems that injury is still taking its toll on him. Wouldn't make a move with the way he is currently playing and also I think he is out of contract at the end of the year.

yea the only way i would want it to go through is if we got him to a contract Extention i know he isnt going to come to miami if he becomes a FA at the end of this year and when he is 100% off that injury he is one of the top Pass rushers i think in the long run he would help us a lot and he is better than any OLB coming of of this years draft and he is still young he is only 25
