Excellent season so far. This show is like a Shakespeare tragedy with betrayals, double crosses, shifting alliances, familial conflicts and buried toxic secrets.. with just enough violence to keep everyone happy.

Anyone else watching it?

This show is like a bad habit... I think it is contrived, hammily acted, and somewhat predictable... but I can't stop watching it... I started watching it at the insistence of a friend who said that there is a character that looks a lot like me and I needed to see it ... this is not the type of show that would normally draw me... and I don't think I have missed an episode since... so what does that say? I guess I'm a fan...

I'm not feeling it as much as last season- a little more contrived and feely-touchy plus I'm finding it hard to believe that the little ragtag SAMCRO core group of misfits is as menacing and influential as they're portrayed to be. Still better than most shows and it's early yet but I find myself not as stoked awaiting the next week's episode.

Well, for me, up til last night, the season was a letdown: plots too contrived, unbelievable and/or linear, but the finale more than compensated for that. Plenty of double and triple crosses, revenges (sweetest when served cold), and Shakespearean motives & conflicts percolating right up until, and especially in the final act.

Since the magic number bandied about seems to be "14" (months), the show now has me eagerly waiting for another year or so of brain cells to atrophy (especially accelerated by frequenting the main forum). Good job writers. If I was an octopus, I'd give this 1.5hr finale "8-thumbs up."

I think in its 4th season, this series has caught its second wind. Back to the modern-day equivalent of Shakesperean multi-layered cross and conflicting allegiances, betrayals, double dealing, love, hate, and (my favorite genre) revenge... with a healthy dollop of violence interspersed. For me, now that CYE has ended its season, SOS is back to being the best show on TV, (and surprisingly not on a premium network either).

Usually after the 2nd or 3rd season of a show, there's writer fatigue; they run out of novel story lines and become more predictable I feared the Irish plot last season was somewhat contrived and essentially an excuse to take a breather. Well, whether there's an infusion of new writers or the time out was rejuvenating, after 3 episodes, SOS is back with a vengeance... and I'm back to a "can't wait til next week's episode" mindset. Well done!

Oh, and Peggy Bundy is looking every bit the GILF this season too.

This is one of my favorite shows. NBC, ABC, CBS, and FOX need to start taking a few lessons from not only the movie channels but AMC and FX, which I suppose could be considered FOX, because they know how to do a show the right way and the big four mostly air a bunch of garbage that gets canceled pretty fast these days.

Zero chance. IMO Tara is gonna get got next episode. I know Jax is going with her, but I think if the hitman tries to kill her and fails, Tara will tell Jax everything leading to Clay having to die the next episode, which is too early. Thats gonna be the finale. What I think will happen is Tara gets whacked and then either Gemma, Uncer or both turn on Clay after thinking about it and tell him an episode or two down the line. Jax then tells Opie the truth about Piney. They both kill Clay. No way he makes it past the season finale.

Opie was one of my calls.. Unser is trying to avoid Gemma's hands from getting bloody. He may himself be the one who ends up offing Clay. If you saw coming attractions, Clay is self-imploding as what reasonable criminal would try to assassinate his daughter in law in a hospital room? (it won't happen IMO). Tig saying "enough is enough", Bobby potential being ratted out by Otto...all setting the stage for a Jax presidency Goodbye Ron Pearlman, this is your last season, good acting job throughout). Glad to see Tom Arnold get what he deserved

Absolutely great understated acting job by the guy who plays Otto!

Violence filled episode with lots of blood and guts. Tyler, any truth to the rumor you're trying to bring a SAMCRO charter to your 3rd World piece of the rock?

It seems like only yesterday I was drooling over Drea DeMatteo as Christophers hot GF Adriana - what the hell happened?:confused:

A Harley would definitely turn heads

Drea definitely hit a wall since season 1...and hit it hard.

Still not convinced that Otto is going to turn on the club. I think may **** Potter over somehow...not sure how yet. And yea, zero chance Clay kills Tara next week. I think there was a prospect outside and there is no way that could go down smoothly. Its hard to see Clay surviving next episode, but there are 3 more so I guess he will somehow. On another board a few people brought up the possibility that Clay runs and then the show focuses on Jax and Opie hunting Clay down. Not sure how i feel about that.

Gave props a few posts up to the understated acting job of the guy who plays Big Otto. I didn't realize that it's Kurt Sutter, the actual creator of SOA, one of its writers and the one who cast his wife, Katy Sagal in the role of Gemma. I believe he was also a writer and subsequently director of The Shield. That guy's got all sorts of talents. Props2him.

Someone on another board pointed out that Otto has not signed anything yet and wont until all his demands have been met...one of those demands is telling bobby face to face that he turned the club in. Things could get patched up in that meeting. Then again, the conversation may well be in the presence of Potter and others which will make it difficult for Bobby to tell Otto that Georgie is dead

Didn't think Clay would go so soon; Opie hates everyone now including Jax, Gemma needs to keep her family in the nest or else she's got nothing, Bobby and Juice are f*cked, the Feds are gonna bust the Irish meet... All this would spell the natural end of the series tied up in a nice bow, but there's at least 2 more episodes this year and at least another season to come, so it'll be interesting which way direction they go in. I'm starting to think they'll be merging with another club and introducing new characters, drama, allegiances and double-dealing (like the conflict between tribes on Survivor) I'm holding on to my popcorn.

It's very hard to believe at this point that there would be a whole new season with the way things have went down but I have to agree with you. It will most likely go into a new direction.

Tara gets whacked by Leroy next episode as payback IMO. This causes Jax to stay in Charming and take the gavel next season. After Tara gets got, Jax also possibly gets back with his baby mama that was conveniently reintroduced.

My take on the season finale:

very disappointing, contrived; In ineptly trying to tie everything together in a neat bow, the plot direction defied credibility, sort of negated the Cartel's past menace, is giving Bobby a literal "get out of jail card" and revealed that Clay's obvious demise was little more than a teaser. Also, no real cliffhanger. As a huge fan of the show, I was underwhelmed and less excited about the start of next season.

Oh well, onward next month to some more unapologetic, gratuitious "Justified" blood and violence down near Bumpus' hollow.

I felt the same way. It really wasnt believable at all to me. I know you have to suspend belief some when watching shows like this, but I think they jumped the shark with this Cartel thing. SPOILER ALERT!! SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE JUST GETTING INTO THE SHOW AND HAVNT CAUGHT UP. DO NOT READ THIS POST!!!

this is the genious of kurt sutter [a real biker].

he has an uncany way of bringing in characters where you go, "huh, no way that works. you gotta be kidding me!" and they end up delivering epic performances and you cant think of anyone else doing there character. when i first heard about the show coming on, i see the guy from beauty and the beast guy and peg bundy and that kid form that gay show. i am like, naaawww, this is going to be awful. just a cheezy biker exploiltation show with all kinds of biker cliche's and goofy scenerios.

then i see its written and created by kurt sutter who did THE SHIELD [one of the finest written shows ever] and i had to watch. being a life long biker myself, i was glad there was hope on the horizon with the show being done by kurt, another life long biker. [so is his wife, katy segal who rides her own harley and they ride when ever there not working].

alan arkin? a menacing, evil supremacist? come on!! one of the best bad guy parts ever untill stahl, i thought he would be hard to beat.

then i see there bringing in that black guy from LOST, the guy whos only line seemed to be, "waaaaaaalt!! waaaaaaaalt!!!". and he is supposed to play the heaviest, brutalist o/g in california. YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!! any question on pool being top bad guy now? he makes so much sense as you dont see him coming, just like the chicken restaraunt guy on breaking bad. brilliant character and cast creation from sutter.

and then JIMMY SMITS. i like smits. took me a while, expecially when he came to one of my other fav all time shows, NYPD BLUE. but, he won me over and i had a tear when he got sick and kacked. [he is really sick now in real life. hope he doesnt do a patrick swayzee]. he has played some great parts and some real clunkers. he got me right off the bat! i love his character, he is believable in it and wonder if he is going to be a great mentor and aly to jax or end up his worst enemy. hard to think about that after clay and stahl and zorbel. but again, thats the beauty of sutter. what you think will or wont happen can turn on a dime.

that goofy guy who played the brother of the girl psycic on MEDIUM, the one who had the same visions but couldnt deal and it cost him his military career. he ended up being OPIE WINSTON, my fav character in the show. again, sutter sees what most couldnt. brilliant acting by all of these people.

every season i think, ok, how can they keep this going. how can you take the violence, greed and betrayal that this club is locked into and make it fresh. and every year, we see a worse bad guy/gal. more twisted situations, more ways to "flame" out. all due to brilliant acting and writing. the show is inked for 2 more seasons after this one. you have to wonder how it can last after the things that have taken place this season so far with pool and opie and the continuing CIA clamp on jax. how much more can tara take. well, after watching every year of the shield, i have no doubt sutter will make the final two seasons relative and exciting. and like the shield, you can bet when it ends, it will be gut wrenching and dark and justified.

my hands down favorite show on tv right now and definately in my top 3 ever.

"thats it! take all that pain and use it to take it to another level. this is what turns players into kings!"

one of the best lines ever and so very shakespearian. we havnt seen the depth or the worst of damen pool yet.

cant wait to see what finally happens to him [or if anything does]. i hope tig gets to gut him. i would love to see jax make him eat his own dick!

i think we are going to see a changed jax teller after all that has happened with pool and opie. we will see a glimpse of it when he finds that prison guard.

this is just one of those shows that i dont want it to end after each episode and cant wait untill the next. i was so scared this was going to be a lame show that was going to give a lame narative on the biker culture but [thankfully] it is anything but. soooo much deeper. lets face it, if SONNY BARGER ["the" hells angel] makes appearances on the show, you know it has substance and credibility. sonny has HATED every biker or hells angel/outlaw club movie there has been. and he also NEVER misses and episode. [he lives close to me here in arizona].

SOA ROCKS!!!!
