Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick said in April he wanted to renew the football series with Miami. But Swarbrick now isn't returning calls, and UM believes he's no longer interested because he never responded to two UM proposals (including a home-and-home series and/or a neutral site game).

It doesn't look like we're going to be back in the BCS, so for me - I'd love to see Miami vs. Notre Dame in the Gator Bowl.

I wish the two would play. The ratings would be through the roof.

So would the points......I'd take the over in that matchup.....

Neither team plays much defense and struggles to hold anyone under 30 on a regular basis....

Notre Dame has been running from Miami for years. This doesn't surprise me at all.

Most everyone at Notre Dame would love to see a return matchup of Notre Dame vs. Miami. The criticisms in the past from South Bend was over the 'ethics' of the UM program. While I don't know why the standard isn't the same for USC, the UM program under Johnson and Coker wasn't stocked with choir boys, and for that ND dropped the series.

But Randy Shannon has a respectable program in Coral Gables with great players and he's doing it the right way. No scandals, no paying players, no agents for undergrads, basically everything that NCAA football should be. Especially now that I am earning a degree from Miami, I'd love to see this matchup renewed with a home-and-home. If Swarbrick thinks he deserves anything else, he should take a look at the AP Poll over the weekend and realize Miami > Notre Dame.
