ok so i know this is pretty early, but i figured hey, its halfway through the year so why not take a jab at what i feel are the most pressing needs going into next year...the biggest 3 i see are WR (we need a number one, deep threat player, it seems like all we have now are the slot type receiver talent except for ginn on occasion), DT (jason ferguson is getting old and injuries will be harder and harder to heal so we should get a solid rookie to come in and eventually be replacement), and Safety (either FS or SS, mostly im thinking SS, yeremiah i think isnt who he used to be in the open field and we need a strong open field tackler, we just have too many holes in our secondary and i think some will go away once our rookie CB's mature a little more but safety needs upgrading).

I'm going to assume a mid round selection say pick 16
Round 1: DT: Jared Odrick-PSU
This guy is pretty big at 6'5" 305lbs, he has both good pass rush and run stop-ablility, just the guy we need to stuff up the middle. Quick off the snap and can get into the backfield rather quick. Could be a pretty good buy at 16 in round one.

Round 2: WR: Jacoby Ford-Clemson
He is the deep threat we need and his versatility could add another wrinkle to the wildcat if it continues next year (been used as a reciever, running back, returner and also QB, throw him in the back field and who knows what could happen). With 4.37 speed and at 5'10" 185lbs he could use a little bulking up but could be a solid threat.

Round 3: SS: Harry Coleman-LSU
Listed as a LB but it is said that he will be moving back to SS due to his size at 6'2" 205lbs. The versitility that he possesses (OLB, special teams, secondary) could be very useful to us seeing that our OLB's are getting old and our safeties are a little questionable. Would be a very good buy in the third round.

Other positions I see a need at are OL, LB, and TE...im not looking to get bashed...i just want to know what everyone thinks

i would be pretty disappointed...

i think we have bigger first round needs then a six five DT that doesnt fit into our defense... i think there would be better WR options in round two (5'8" 185 LB speedster???)

and we already have two highly paid strong safetys on this team...

...honestly i hate it, both sober and drunk as I looked at this earlier and felt the same, we can't afford anymore luxury picks, especially in the first, DE has by far the most depth of any position on our team. We need a big bodied #1 wideout, not another undersized speedster and Harry Coleman really isn't good value there, let alone a good fit for what we need. I think we need to address our needs with these 3 picks. FS, LB and TE. Get me a Brandon Marshall or a Vincent Jackson in free agency. Then we'll let loose on draft day:
1. Jermaine Gresham/Rolando McClain
2. Nate Allen/Brandon Spikes
3. Dexter Davis...
I'll change these once I've sobered up, but ridicule away.

That would be a draft full of reaches. Odrick is a 2nd rounder at best. We should look at two players in Round 1 in my opinion...Dez Bryant or Rolando McClain. The teams' biggest needs are OLB, ILB, WR, NT. My mock would look like this....

1-Dez Bryant-WR-Oklahoma State
2-Jerry Hughes-OLB-TCU
3-Phil Taylor-NT-Baylor
4-Joe Pawelek-ILB-Baylor

If we land Bryant and Hughes . . . I'll be happy to say the least. I have a feeling that both will be gone when it comes to drafting them in those positions. I think Hughes will almost certainly be available when we pick in RD 1, but he'd almost certainly be a reach at that spot. I love the mock from 1 to 4. I just hope it's plausible.
