HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (AP) -- Police say James Owen Sullivan, a drummer and backup vocalist for the Southern California band Avenged Sevenfold (http://music.msn.com/music/artist/avenged-sevenfold.2/), has been found dead at his home in Southern California.
Lt. John Domingo says the 28-year-old Sullivan, who went by the stage name The Rev, appears to have died of natural causes on Monday in Huntington Beach.
The Orange County coroner's office is investigating the death.

Probably an OD. Sad...A7X is one of my favorite bands. The Rev was a great drummer. RIP Rev...

I find it really hard to believe that drugs had nothing to do with him dropping dead. Who knows though...I hope Im wrong. He was a pretty crazy dude. Crazy good drummer too. Its sad how many great musicians die young

wow. I breifly met him in passing when I was working the Avenged Sevenfold/Drowning Pool/Pappa Roach/Buck Cherry show in Belton last year.

9 times out of 10 if someone was "found dead" it was a drug overdose. That's likely the case here with another rock star.

Concur. It's walking, flapping and quacking like what it probably is.

It may not be the case, but.........I'll just say that the "after" at that particular show was not D&A free, from what I saw when I was loading up their ****.

Dude had a ****ing killer set of drumstands though. They were actually the most impressive that I've lumped.

It seems I remember reading an article where the band was bragging about doing lines of coke off of strippers. This isn't surprising but is disappointing nonetheless.
