Im not too upset with this loss, with houstan winning it became a meaningless game. all it means is we pick higher in the draft. we could now pick at 10 overall, at worst if tennesse wins, 12th. I like dez bryant or rolondo mclain at that spot.

Are you sure? didnt jacksonville loose today? i thought the highest we could pick was 11?

If we are at 10, 11 or 12, w.e. it is

its imo:

Eric Berry (highly unlikely)
Dez Bryant
Rolando Mcclain
CJ Spiller

or tade back for

Earl Thomas
Terrence Cody
Dan Williams
jerry Hughes
Brandon Spikes
Golden Tate

I think, at the end of the day, 11th was the earliest we could pick...

you guess are dreaming if you think Rolando McClains getting past Denver....other than D.J,they don't have a ILB.....Really cant see him getting to us,unless we cut off the Broncos.

i thought denver traded their pick away this year to draft alphonso smith? i think we're going to be in position to get good value for where we pick.

Yes, but they also received the Bears 1st rounder for Jay Cutler. Right now, I have that pick being one pick ahead of us.

the Cutler trade...my friend....this is Chicago's pick....your thinking of the Seattle Seahawk's...they have Denver's pick.

panthers/49ers won today, 49ers won today, chicago(7-9) won today, jax was ahead of us and lost like us, houston won today, if tenn wins we pick 10 or 11 depending on tie breaker with chicago.

I really like your mock, it looks like it would solve some problems straight up.

2010 MiamiDolfan85's Miami Mock:

1:Jerry Hughes(#98),OLB out of TCU(6'3",257)

2:Micah Johnson(#58),ILB out of Kentucky(6'2",258)

3:Marcus Easley(#89),WR out of Connecticut(6'2",216)

4:Robert Johnson(#27),FS out of Utah(6'2",200)

6:Shay Hodge(#11),WR out of Ole Miss(6'2",207)

6b:Cameron Sheffield(#59),OLB out of Troy(6'2",249)

6c:Joique Bell(#31),RB out of Wayne State(6'1",223)

7:Obi Ezeh(#95),ILB out of Michigan(6'2",243)

7b:Cam Thomas(#69),NT out of North Carolina(6'3",328)

The Jaguars and Bears have a weaker strength of schedule than we do. That means they pick ahead of us.

What makes you think the Broncos will go McClain? They're going to end up trading away Marshall so they'll need some help at WR.

I want either McClain or Bryant. No other way around it.

so....it looks like we'll be picking 12.....theres not a lot of option at 12....I wouldnt rule our Miami trading back.Theres gonna be a few players Miami could realistically be interested in.

Bryant
Hughes
Mays
Thomas
Spikes

I really don't like anybody at 12.....

McClain's gonna be gone to DEN.Bryant is a WR....enuff said.Mays is overrated. So I can only see Miami either taking a OLB or ILB,and to tell you the truth, theres no one at 12 I would consider worthy of that value.

I think the best scenerio for Miami is to trade down later into the draft and pick up some late round picks, like a 3rd or a 4th,and pick in the twenties,or latter teens.

Thats where guys like Sapp,Graham,Hughes look to have much better value, and we have some extra picks later in the draft.

Here's hoping Suh or Berry fall to us.

still wouldnt mind Dan Williams unless his stock is dropping...
Why would the top 2 players in the draft fall all the way to 12?

Considering the amount of holes we have and how attractive the 12th pick could end up looking, I suspect we trade down, ideally picking up an extra 2nd or else a 3rd&5th.

Jerry Hughes would be good value later in the 1st and 2 pics in the 2nd allows a Micah Johnson / Eric Norwood coup. These 3 along with Anderson, Crowder and Wake would give us a young fast LB corp.

LB is clearly where we need the help, seeing Ayodele chasing the TE today was quite scary actually.

I do feel better knowing that we dont have to spend a pick on a back up QB. Thigpen showed some good things today.

I would like dez bryant or mcclain or trading down for a 1st and 2nd and getting something like Earl Thomas, Brandon Spikes, and Ricky Sapp then signing Karlos Dansby and trading Crowder+Bell and move Gibril to SS (where he belongs..)

there's 8 teams with a worse record than us
St. Louis 1-15
Detroit 2-14
Tampa Bay 3-13
Kansas City 3-13/4-12
Washington 4-12/5-11
Cleveland 5-11
Oakland 5-11/6-10
Buffalo 6-10

depending on how Tennessee does today, they're either 9th or 12th (first among 8-8 teams based on 4-8 conference record)

between Jacksonville, Chicago and us, the Jags have the best conference record, so they're behind us and Denver (via CHI).

it comes down to strength of schedule. we had the stronger sos heading into the game. that means right now, Denver is 9th, we're 10th and Jacksonville is 11th.

Tiebreaker for draft is strength of schedule not conference record.

i dont think confrence record matters and havin a strong SOS is going to hurt us, its opposite.

i looked a bit and it matters, but only if sos is tied. i always thought it was the other way round.

so right now we're 12th as long as tenn loses right???

i like baseballs idea of taking bryant or mcclain or trading back a few slots and taking earl thomas at fs (really liking what i'm seeing from him) and picking up picks

Seattle isn't going to be too happy that their draft choice was taken away.
