I like it. I think you addressed a lot of the needs and picked some good players. I personally like Spikes more than McClain. McClain played behind the best DL I have seen in a long time. I think that Spikes was the centerpiece of that Florida defense.

Myron Rolle is overrated. He is not terrible, but because of his hype about being a Rhodes Scholar the public has an over inflated view of him. I see him as more of a 7th rd. talent. Also I think I would take Cam Thomas over Troup-just personal preference.

not bad, I don't think we'd take Hernandez cause he's not good blocking on the line (he is a good downfield blocker though), and I doubt Gilyard lasts till the 3rd.

Rolle IMO will be a LB in a Cover 2 defense. For all the faults Taylor Mays has in coverage, Rolle is much worse.

Thanks guys. Some Valid Points. Should be a fun Draft. I'm really hoping Mardy Gilyard Last till the 3rd. I think he is going to be a good player.

I doubt that Gilyard will last past mid 2d. He is a good receiver, and has return skills.

Great looking Draft, but Gylard is what, the 4th rated wr? Hell never make it past the 2nd rd.....unluckily for us

Some suggested that C.J. Spiller may be there at 12 so some teams maybe tempted to trade with us for Spiller. That would be great if we could slide down to the 20s and pick up another 2d rounder. Then I would go: Brandon Graham, Terrence Cody, and Eric Norwood in top 3 picks.

i have a feeling mclain will be gone by the time we pick. also hernandez and gilliard probally wont make it to our 2nd and 3rd pick. you might get one of them, or maybe gilliard with our second.

Nice looking mock. I like the Aaron Hernandez pick and don't mind if he's not a top shelf blocker. We'd be drafting him as our receiving threat TE with Fasano sill around to handle blocking duties.

Only problem is you didn't get us a RB. Remember, Ricky will be 33 and Ronnie might not be here next year. There's no way we can give him a long term max deal with his injury history. I say we tender him for a 2nd and hope CLE or DET signs him away from us.

Also, why not throw in some FA signings and trades with that mock?

Like this...

Cap Cuts

OLB Joey Porter
FS Gibril Wilson
ILB Reggie Torbor

Free Agency

NT Vince Wilfork - Love the idea of snagging him away from the Pats.
LB Kirk Morrison - Solid ILB to replace Crowder (traded below).
FS Antrel Rolle - Not a FA yet but he should be an ARI cap cut.

Trades

RB Ronnie Brown to DET (via 2nd round tender) for DET's 2nd round pick.
WR Ted Ginn and LB Channing Crowder to CLE for CLE's 3rd round pick.

Draft

1.) CJ Spiller - Not a WR but still the big play maker we need.
2a.) Golden Tate - Could be there in the early 2nd (pick via DET for Ronnie).
2b.) Aaron Hernandez - Now we're putting together on offense!
3a.) Von Miller - Texas A&M junior OLB could be a steal here.
3b.) Micah Johnson - Kentucky ILB should beat out Akin Ayodele.
4.) Pat Angerer - Iowa ILB not too big but tenacious enough for the Tuna.
Rounds 5 - 7.) More LBs

Roster

QB Henne, Thigpen, White
RB Spiller (KR/PR), Ricky, Hilliard, Cobbs
FB Polite
WR Tate, Hartline, Bess, Camarillo, Turner
TE Hernandez, Fasano, Haynos

LT Long, Gardner
LG Smiley
C Grove, Berger
RG Thomas, Garner
RT Carey

DE Langford, Merling
NT Wilfork, Ferguson, Soliai
DE Starks, McDaniel

OLB JT, Miller
ILB Morrison, Angerer
ILB Johnson, Ayodele
OLB Wake, Anderson

CB Vontae Davis, Sean Smith (NB)
FS Rolle, Clemmons
SS Bell, Tolver
CB Will Allen, Nate Jones, Jason Allen

Now that's an off-season! We shored-up the middle of the defense on all levels and added a whole lot of big play fire power with Spiller, Tate and Hernandez.

Why trade Crowder just to sign the same player in Morrison, I don't get that plus he's a restricted FA. V.Miller in the third seems like a big stretch, he should be a solid 2nd round pick but you never know I guess. M.Johnson could also be gone by the third, I also like Pawelek.

CJ would be more effective with Brown then trying to count on Williams or Hillard, or sign a M.Bell for the powerback role.

Wilfork would be great but he'll cost a fortune, Hampton or Pickett are other possibilities. I don't see us keeping 3 NT's on the active roster so Fergy would not be re-signed I would imagine.

I would love to get Tate on our team, I'll be surpised if he doesn't go in the bottom of the first.

Why would Cleveland want Ginn don't they have that Cribbs kid, I heard he was good!

I didn't know Kirk Morrison was a RFA but I don't see him as equal to Crowder. I think Crowder is awful.

Wilfork would be expensive but money well spent...or at least a hell of a lot better spent than other FAs we've signed like Ernest Wilford and Gibril Wilson.

Spiller wouldn't need much more than Ricky/Hilliard/Polite as a power back/short yardage compliment. Ronnie is too expensive and too injury prone to keep around if we could instead get a 2nd rounder for him.

Why would anyone want Ginn?!?!? I'm just dreaming here on the CLE trade. But seriously, they could use a speed WR and LB help. Cribbs is more RS/WC/RB than classic WR and Massaqui isn't a deep threat.

kirk morrison will be better i do not see him getting drilled like crowder did against smith and leon, anybody has more awareness than crowder, no way we draft a te in the 2nd round we need a wr a lot more and there will be a lot of wr's this year, te we could get via trade or fa

this is our draft order by round
1 ilb
2 wr
3 rb
4 wr
5 secondary
6 olb
7 nt
and we will sign an undrafted te or 2
hopefully we do trade some of the dead weight we have for some picks, ie porter, wilson, and ronnie, i think behind this o line almost any rb could run behind it

I agree about Wilfork but your talking Haynesworth money not Wilford or Wilson money!

Spiller would be an exciting addition, I have no problems trading Brown. I prefer to not give big second contracts, but Brown is a restricted FA so his contract for 1 year wouldn't be too bad for the talent he is.

Hmmmm...Wilfork is one year older than Haynesworth and not as dominant but yeah, I guess his agent will be going for that type of $.

haynesworth got $48 mil guaranteed from the skins

but wilfork might get half that

b/t i just listened to fergie's exit interview from monday in the lockerroom and he said he was told his recovery time for his quad is 6 to 8 months...

sounds like he did some major damage and at a then 36 next year with that long a recovery time before he's healthy and can really begin heavy weight training and squats etc i think nose tackle just moved way up my list of needs that need to be filled either in free agency or the draft

Hopefully, Terrence Cody sips to early round 2 where we can snag him with the pick we get from DET for Ronnie's tender.

I know Cody is only a 2 down player but that's all we need him for.

He'll get less re-signing with NE, on the open market with more teams going 3/4 and Wilfork being one of the best in the biz he'll demand alot and get it. It may not be exactly Haynesworth contract but it won't be to far off.

no $40 mil guaranteed nose for me

In the only mock draft that I've bothered to do this season I had the Dolphins taking Vince Oghobaase in the third round. That was, of course, wishful thinking. But I just couldn't help but wonder what the hell happened to him. He seemed well on his way to first round status, took some injuries this year and all of a sudden he's a 3rd or 4th round pick? Come on, that doesn't sound right.

I love being able to watch an entire player's game in like 20 minutes. It's hard to find Duke games this year where Vince actually played, because of the injury. Actually it's not easy to find Duke games period but that's a different issue. I took a look at him against Army. If you're only focusing on one player, you can get the job done in 20 minutes easy.

If that didn't look like a grown man playing football on a playground full of high school junior varsity kids...sheesh. Can't wait to cut that one up and put it on display.

Army plays those wide line splits a la Mike Leach, along with the triple option. Because of that the Duke coaches weren't sure that Oghobaase could be much of a factor. Boy were they wrong. Army went through three quarterbacks mostly because Oghobaase ate two of them. I don't know that I've ever seen a DT cut blocked that much in my entire life. He HAD to be tired at the end of the game. That's a lot of bending for one game. He was almost always blocked by two linemen, sometimes three, and it would be blockers diving at his feet in quick succession, anything to keep him away from the play.

The bad news is he didn't look particularly good at protecting his feet and so with all of those cuts coming after him wave after wave he did get knocked to the ground some. But this isn't Brian Price going to the ground on a third of his plays just for no good reason other than he can't keep his balance. He was being cut, you expect a guy to end up on the ground when facing that many cut blocks especially from smaller, quicker linemen like Army has.

But my god. If you didn't cut block him, forget it. The word is unblockable, and I don't use it often. Toward the end of the game Army were forced to pass the ball to catch up, and they would have two OLs blocking him, each time he would split them and cut right through like a knife, guaranteeing that the QB wouldn't have all day. Sometimes they put three OLs on him. I even saw him tie up 4 OLs in one play.

I know the dude fought some injuries this year...had a disappointing season that way, but come on man. This looks like one of those things where something takes you off the national spotlight a little bit, and so the draftnik world forgets about you...but I doubt they'll forget about Vince by draft day.

I REALLY look forward to watching him at the Shrine practices. I'll be there in Orlando and so will he.
