I know one thing.....he's pissed about that gatorade bath...

There's two kids that will be running wind sprints after that plane lands in Tuscaloosa....

I'm VERY happy for Nick Saban. Anyone who isn't is just butthurt. I root for successful people and in college football coaching there's not ONE who is more successful and better at what he does than Nick Saban.

So, congratualtions to Nick Saban and his football team. With or without Colt McCoy, Alabama EARNED it.

Colt McCoy isn't the only quarterback Bama's defense has knocked out of the game this season.....they're just too physical and they beat you up....

They knocked Jordan Jefferson AND Charles Scott out of the game against LSU.....they were on the verge of knocking Tyrod Taylor out of the game in the 4th quarter against VT.....he spirit was BROKE and he was getting destroyed....he wanted out of there....

Ryan Mallet....Jevon Snead...Tyrod Taylor....Stephen Garcia and Tim Tebow combined....2 TD's and 6 INT's versus Bama's defense...

McCoy would've been another notch in their belt....

I don't care about Saban as long as I'm not subjected to him as coach of any team I root for. I stopped posting here during 2006 because it was unbearable to root for a team led by a lowlife. That's all he'll ever be to me, based on his belittling attitude toward media members and lower level personnel. Saban has a face that should be smacked repeatedly from every angle. Maybe allow 5 minutes rest per hour, like those strenuous world record attempts.

He'd get used to it.

That being said, Alabama is exactly the type of team I love. Barrel chested, huge and physical. Run oriented with aggressive defense. That team could survive a stretch of games minus its QB, just like the '72 Dolphins did. I had to laugh tonight when the other side was so inept the first half minus McCoy. QB oriented teams deserve every bit of that. In fact, the bowl season in general this year was glorious in that basic football dominated almost without exception. The spread and mush teams were sent home whimpering.

Maybe the Big 12 can emphasize the short and sideways passes to greater extent. Every play can be a flanker screen and we'll prance to the end zone. Alabama should be ashamed for allowing a few of them to work. I have no idea how the pantyhose Big 12 isn't ridiculed annually. Somehow the Big 10 unfairly has taken the brunt of the criticism. Meanwhile, minus a simple dropped INT from scrub Ryan Ting when USC led Texas by 12 four years ago, the Big 12 would have dropped every championship game it's contested since Oklahoma over FSU in 2000. It's by far the softest major conference, averaging fewer than 36 rushing attempts per game every season.

The hilarious shovel pass to end the first half reminded me of Joe Theismann's similar donation to the Raiders and Jack Squirek in the '84 Super Bowl.

I gotta say, I too like Alabama's style this season. I love the run game, love their defense and just the attitude they approach each game with.

That all has to come from the coach, so kudos to Nick Saban and I congratulate him. I really enjoyed watching his team play this season. At least he achieved what he left us to achieve.

On the other side of my mind, I still feel a little bitter about the way he simply packed his things and left us stranded....surely he could have stayed until the end of the season instead of just waving "buh-bye" and jumping on the plane to Tuscaloosa....a decent man would have given notice and seen out the year.

All in all though, whats done is done and we now have a far more appropriate operator in BP running the show. I look forward to seeing "our" Dolphins grow and improve over the next few seasons.

He's a great college football coach. Bottom line. Most great college coaches couldn't hack it in the pro ranks.

Saban winning doesn't bother me. I didn't like that he lied about not wanting to go to Bama, but atleast he toughed it out the season unlike a Bobby Patrino who left in the middle of the night.

That being said, I'm not a huge Bama or SEC fan.
