He is a Senior and will our Coachs be coaching him in the senior Bowl because if they do i really hope they take a long hard look at him he is going to be a monster ILB i saw Trade down in the first round Draft Jerry Hughes for OLB collect a couple 2 second round picks then draft this kid in the second round. 6'2 258 pounds this would be perfect to build our Defense around J. Hughes, M. Johnson, V. Davis, and S. Smith

I like Micah a lot. If McClain is unavailable at #12, then I hope we can snag this guy in the 3rd, although he may not make it to our pick then. Great prospect IMO.

the guy is a second round pick easy IMO that why i want to trade down in the first and draft Jerry hughes or the best OLB aviable then get the be WR still on the board with our first second round pick then draft Johnson with our 2 second round pick

He actually isn't a 2nd round pick easy. He's a late 2nd rounder/early 3rd imo. That being said I would love Micah Johnson if we don't land McClain.

Definitely an option in round 2 for us.

it's amazing that it takes 5 scouting posts before i read the word "injury". way late 2nd to mid 3rd.

How good is he in coverage? I thought he had issues with athleticism and moving in space? Everything I have read about him has him pegged in round 3.

all i know is we need 2 stud lb's in the draft, the same way we got 2 cbs

That, too, is the only question I have on him.

Here is a couple of scouting reports on him:

Johnson is an imposing physical specimen -- standing at 6'2'' and 258 pounds -- while being arguably the strongest player on the team. He has decent speed -- around 4.7 in the 40-yard dash -- but he still needs to improve in that area if he wants to be a star at the next level. Johnson is a huge hitter, especially when he gets a full head of steam behind him, but he struggles just a bit at changing direction so he sometimes has trouble against smaller, shiftier running backs. He is not, however, going to get overpowered. Injuries are a minor concern for Johnson, who was sidelined for one full game and part of another in 2008. He was dealing with an MCL midway through his senior season, so it remained to be seen how he finished out the season. Right now Johnson looks to be off the board early on Day 2 of the 2010 NFL Draft. However, his athleticism should provide for a stellar performance at the combine, so moving up is a very real possibility.http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/profile_display.cfm?prospect_id=2256

Strengths: Good height for position
Thick, cut, muscular frame
Highly athletic
Explosive
Good agility and can change directions quickly
Shows coordination and flexibility
Very strong and powerful
Sideline-to-sideline ability
Always around the football
Active
Fluid hips and can cover tight ends
Displays great range in zone
A productive playmaker
Tough
Versatile; any scheme player
Improved his ability when taking angles to the football
Stack-and-shed linebacker
Poised and under control
High upside
Nice overall skill set <img name="prti" style="width: 1px; height: 1px; float: none;" height="1" width="1">
Weaknesses: Might lack some instincts
Talent hasn't always shown through on field
Doesn't have great timed speed
A little inconsistent
Could be a more effective blitzer
Needs to improve reaction skills
Minor durability concerns
Summary: Johnson is a linebacker with a very high upside, but hasn't caught the full attention of NFL scouts quite yet. If he can stay healthy next season, I think he is going to move up draft boards because of his impressive skill set and high upside.
Player Comparison: Jon Beason. Their body frames, physical approach to the game and range are very similar.

I like his size, but I want a guy with a motor and an attitude.....Give me Iowa's Pat Angerer (6'1'' / 235) if we're waiting til the 3rd or 4th, over this guy.

235 is way too light.

Also, Micah in the 3rd is a much, MUCH better value than McClain in the 1st. I'm so opposed to taking McClain in the 1st because Witherspoon, Spikes, and Johnson aren't far - if at all - behind McClain. And, they can all be had in the 2nd - with the possible exception of Witherspoon.

Johnson will not be at the Senior Bowl because he is recovering from a MCL injury he suffered in the last minute of the Music City Bowl game.

and so johnson is STILL hurt...

yeah i'm passing til pick #74 barring a trade down in round 2...not at #43

too injury prone for my blood with a top half of round 2 pick

And what team would trade a 1st rounder and 2 2nd rounders for our #1 pick?? That's nowhere near realistic.

Zach Thomas played around the 240lb, it wouldnt be hard to get Pat to that level or perhaps a touch heavier....if not him, then maybe his buddy AJ Edds.

i didnt mean 2 second round picks i mean our second round pick plus the second round pick we get from what ever team trades up say maybe the ravens will want to trade up and draft Dez Bryant so we trade into there spot and they give us a second round pick

The best thing I've noticed about Micah Johnson is that he doesn't get blocked, this guy gets through everything. He makes plays in coverage when the ball is thrown at him but I wonder if he'll be able to cover NFL TE's

Idk where this idea came that people would trade a 2 to move up a few slots. They wont. not to 12.

If a team is sitting there at 25-32 picks and they really covet a player that is available when we come to pick, and they suspect someone else in front of them but behind us is going to pick said player then it is COMPLETELY within the realm of possibility that they would trade down. ESPECIALLY someone like the Pats that have 3 second round picks....when you have three it sure would take the sting out of letting go of just one of them.
IDK where you get the idea that it is so far fetched ?

These articles had him playing at 228, then actually at one point getting down to 215!!
I am unsure he was really ever 240?? he is 5'11"
