Nice mock, schofield and chancellor look like the two best players on defense in this shrine game.

I like the way schofield has looked in pass coverage. Not great but considering he played with his hand down in college I think he's improved his draft stock with 3-4 teams alot today.

Chancellor is a big hitter.

Freddie Barnes looked good and so did Blair White. Barnes reminds me of bess with a better YAC potential. White and Hartline might have been seperated at birth.

None of these quarterbacks are starters at the next level.

nice draft but you missed nt, and if dez is there at 12 we will take him instead, and get an lb in the 2nd, the way i see it is after dez there is a big drop off, but after mcclain, you could still get some pretty decent lb's in almost every round

neal also looked really good strong at the point of attack and kafta looked good at the end of the game. chancelor?(SP) looked good but i believe looked much to big to me for FS! sheffield looked very good to me both in the run and pass coverage. Looked very strong in to open field tackeling. anthony dixon looked good on the sweep playes and catching out of the backfield. Greg hardy also looked very good most of the game used his speed very well to get around the corner! Freddy barnes looks to have risen his stock in the draft a little and blair white impressed the entire game able to get open and using his hands to catch the ball. Thats all i have from the game.

Micah Johnson is NOT staying in school. He's a senior and there is no way for him to medical redshirt cause he played this year. He's in the draft.

man i like that tackle saffold from indiana...solid player there...

kam chancellor looks like a legit in the box safety ...i worry about his coverage but all indications are he was excellent all week in practice...and he can lay the wood...i like how he comes up in run support a lot...covered ground pretty well

obrien schoefield i thought showed pretty well for not ever playing lb til this week...his change of direction wasn't the best but for a guy asked to play in space for the first time he looked good to me...i think he's a solid 4th round guy at the latest

andrew quarless has a ton of upside and potential and an nfl body...with all his character and off the field issues i'd love to get him in the 6th...

torrell troup looks pretty good to me also although he lost track of the ball a few times ...another nt i'd love to get in the 6th...

i'd burn one of our 7th rounders on a qb like that kid skelton...he's got a HUGE arm...i love a live arm and for a 7th rounder i'd take him...just to see what he might become

dennis pitta may go in the 2nd round but i wouldn't use that high a pick on him...i'd go with the upside of quarless later

i don't know what the deal was but i couldn't find dexter davis to save my life...i was looking for that ariz st color helmet and had no luck

also liked the center estes i think from hawaii...anchored pretty well

robert johnson looks like a pencil out there...his lower body especially his lower legs are scary thin...pass

And you'll also see some pretty damned savvy predictions on how the game would turn out. :)

I have to say, having watched practice all week, it was unique to watch just how consistently the players brought the same thing to the game, that they did to practice.

Rodger Saffold was superb. But, he was superb all week and I highlighted him a bunch of times.

Keaton Kristick brought the same thing to the game that I saw in practice, which is his fantastic coverage, especially on the Tight End. He jammed the ever loving hell out of the 6'9" and 280 pound Ali Villanueva during the game, then painted him in coverage, and not surprisingly Ali couldn't come up with the ball. That is absolutely something that Kristick had started to show by the end of the week. I believe he also had a big hit during the game, which is something else he showed.

Dennis Pitta rocked the practices all week, and when you consider the limited playing time, he rocked the game too.

Blair White had solidly slid home as being the best performing WR in Shrine practices. He brought that to the game.

Freddie Barnes was a solid performer all week, he brought that to the game.

Andrew Quarless showed himself to have nice soft hands and a propensity to use his size and body to create opportunities for the QB, also an ability to execute chip blocks and still run his routes. He brought that to the game.

Kam Chancellor was KILLING people all week long, named by Andre Anderson as the hardest hitter and you could tell the whole East team thought that way. He brought that to the game.

Van Eskridge made an interception during practice that looked identical to the one he made during the game. Errant pass, he'd been reading the QB's eyes and flowing to the football, but he wasn't really challenged athletically.

John Estes was the best West offensive lineman all week, noted for his extremely quick hands and stout anchor ability. He brought that to the game.

Late in the Tuesday practice, Pat Paschall showed me a run during scrimmage, he showed vision and agility, speed cutting to the outside and gaining big yardage out there. Then Wednesday, he exchanged his non-descript gold helmet for a helmet from his team North Dakota State, and he built on that run by flashing all over the place. He did the same on Thursday and he was absolutely the best RB in the game today.

Jeff Fitzgerald looks like a monster to me all week, and yet so too did Kyle Callaway. These two behemoths collided in the game today and something had to give...and they fought one heck of a battle with blows dealt from both sides. It was quality.

Greg Hardy, to me, showed all kinds of ability during Shrine practices, but he showed an alarming lack of strength in his arms when he swipes and punches. Yet, he stood STOUT to the double teams and against the run during the week. Well, can you guess who just blew by an offensive tackle, got his arms all over the 5'10" and 188 lbs Todd Reesing, and fell harmlessly to the ground without even jarring Reesing that much? Can you guess who stood up to double teams against the run, and made plays sweeping to the interior?

I think only two real things surprised me. They were O'Brien Schofield's interception on a nice undercut in man coverage, and Devin Ross' so-so performance. The first surprises me just because O'Brien really hadn't shown that all week, and yet it doesn't totally surprise me because his Wisconsin film was strong and I expected to see something like that all week and I thought maybe it would just take him longer to get used to it than others. As for Devin Ross' performance, that was a bit surprising to me because he was by far the best cornerback on either squad all during the week, showing an ability to jam the heck out of anyone at the line, turn and run with them, or equally to play off coverage and break heavy on the ball, forcing incompletions.

I'm still wondering about Kam Chancellor...he was impressive during this game...but it was different from the times I've seen him throughout the season. I wasn't impressed with him much during the season.

ahhh...so that's what happened to davis.

how did the qb skelton look all week in practice??? did he get better each day??? cause he's got a real LIVE arm

paschall looked solid to me also but they said he has a propensity to bounce everything outside...how did he look b/t the tackles???

ckparrothead

He did have a propensity toward going to the outside. But he averaged something like 6.7 yards per carry and one thing I noticed is he used the outside in multiple ways, not just bouncing it out there but cutting to the interior. A LOT of teams use zone-inside/zone-outside stuff. I think those are the teams that would be interested in him. He's got talent.

Skelton actually got worse. He started off hot with accuracy on the Monday, when things were a bit slower, but he had a tragic Tuesday from an accuracy standpoint with the real bullets flying, wasn't much better on Wednesday, and settled in only a little more Thursday. He's a statue in the pocket, doesn't slide very well at all and his dropback is slow.

I added Blair White as one of the 6th rd picks. The QB play made me cry.

Hall is not as good as John Beck.

nice draft but you missed nt, and if dez is there at 12 we will take him instead

I am having a hard time finding an NT to insert anywhere in the draft. In case, you haven't noticed I'm not a fan of the future Diva named Dez.

Further, Its unlikely Tuna & Co take a WR #12... History is on my side.

There is a better chance IMO Miami drafts Gerhart (Stanford RB) in the 3rd than Bryant @ #12.

I'm still at the head the draft Jim Dray bandwagon.
