This is how gross Terrence Cody's body is. He looks like he has no fricken muscle, just a fat blob. He needs a lot of weight training obviously!!!

Thats a big boy, thats for damn sure.

It didn't hurt Andre Smith too much last year . . . I mean he was projected to go as high as #1, and he ended up going 6, and I think that was more due to people feeling he wasn't that best LT prospect in the draft with questions in pass pro.

Cody is different tho, he is well known for having weight issues and work ethic issues . . . a poor senior bowl could really damage his stock. I'm talking about completely out of the first 2 rounds, tho I am sure some team will pull him early who feel they have the training staff and coaching staff to get him right. I think the best thing in the world is Miami coaching him this week . . . we can see first hand who the real Terrence Cody is.

Man I really hope he's ok. Playing at that level at that weight isn't healthy. His diet must be like the anti-clean bulk.

I'd stay far FAR away from this total slob.. I thought he would be a bust way before yesterday, well before these pics were taken.

I feel the same about Cody as I felt for Vernon Gholston before the 08 draft. As some of you know I hated Gholston as a prospect, I talked about it here months before the draft and wrote 50 posts about it.., I thought Gholston would suck as a pro for many reasons - and I was very pro Jake Long for the right reasons.

what hurt Andre Smith was him getting suspended for the bowl game, then dropping out of the combine after the measurements. Smith was able to save face though because of his pro day workout and private workout with the Bengals.

If this causes him to REALLY fall, I'd look at him in the 4th. With some of the other talented positions in the draft, he's too big a risk to take before that point.

not sure why this particular picture will cause him to fall too far. his weight problems are well documented. it's not like he became a big guy over night. he's been playing at or near 370 for most of his career. heck, he blocked two FGs against Tennessee looking like that and most everyone loved him at that time.

I was never in favor of drafting Cody because he is only a two-down NT. But I don't think he will drop too far. I still say he will go no later than the second round because a 3-4 NT is the hardest spot to fill in the NFL, and with more teams going to a 3-4 coupled with the lack of legitimate 3-4 NTs in the draft, his stock will not drop much. You have to remember, this kid once weighed 400lbs, so yes he is going to look the way he looks. I think what the scouts are going to look at is his bench press, and any drill that measures his leg stenghth will determine where he goes in the draft. His weight alone will make him hard to move out of the gap, but if he strong as moose too, then he will go in the late first or second round.

I think people put a late-1st or early-2nd potential grade on him and wanted to see him get his weight down about 10 lbs by this point. Instead, he looks to have gained a few. People, I think, will mark him down to where he is - rather than marking him up to where he might be. But, then, there's usually someone who will reach. If we didn't have other needs, I'd consider grabbing him in the 3rd and working on his conditioning. Before the 4th, he's a borderline luxury pick. Before the 3rd, he's definitely a luxury pick.

I don't know. Seems it would take a lot of muscle to move that body around. Must be some BIG muscles under there somewhere!!!!!

His work ethic and character issues aside, why do we need a 3 down NT? We have tons of depth on the defensive line. He'd be such an enormous asset against the run that I'd be willing to ignore his uselessness as a pass rusher. There are so many people in favor of drafting a gadget player like CJ Spiller in the first. Why are they against drafting a defensive player with the same limitations in terms of playing time? I don't want Cody at #12, but if he falls to the second, I'd love for us to draft him.

With our regime at the helms taking this guy in the 2nd/3rd might be a good idea. They will get him into football shape in a hurry. If he doesnt work hard the league will see him as a fraud and he wont go anywhere.

By the way, because there probaly wont be a new CBA this year, can you release people from contracts signed that year with a cap hit? If we sign Cody can we drop him without the hit?

Yeah lets get players based off how their body looks.... the Jets might give up Vernon Gholston for a 2nd round pick... he looks ripped!!! TRADE FOR HIM!

Guys like Rodgers and Hampton weren't that big coming into the league and aren't 375 now. Plus, those guys can also penetrate well. Cody needs to get in shape for the combine, because he's struggling in mobile and nobody is gonna waste a high pick on a one trick pony with weight/staminia/work ethic issues.

both Hampton and Rogers were rumored to have hit 400 lbs at one point during the off-season. while i don't really believe it in Hampton's case, i could definitely see that with Rogers.

well Hampton has had a couple knee injuries and was put on PUP last year due to his weight, but when healthy he's probably the best NT in the game. Either way, those 2 game into the league what, 9 years ago? Bit of a difference.

OT, but Rodgers and Hampton were starters together at Texas. Try running against that back in the day.

his looks are not what i'm worried about, it's his stamina and limited ability... if he can't handle playing 50-60% of the time for 16+ games he will be useless in this league and he needs to get through the line not just clog it up or qbs will eat any defense he plays for

the whole point is, it's pretty assinine to assess someone based on a topless picture. you won't find many DTs who will look good. i'm just as concerned about Cody's weight issues as the next guy, but i didn't participate in the roller-coaster ride that was his draft stock. i had him in the mid-20's, and if he shows well at the combine, this is probably where he'll end up.

He can clog up the run for 1st and 2nd down.... how nice for our pass defense to have a lot of 3rd and 10+'s....just put one of our other 75 defensive linemen in on pass downs...

I don't care about the topless picture. I'd rather not see it, but I made my opinion based on his play. He had a stretch last year at the beginning of the season where he was dominant and he blocked 2 FGs to save the game against the VOLS this year, but otherwise I'm not overly impressed with him. Guys like Wilfork, Hampton, Rodgers, Williams, ect. all were more than just "fat guy who takes up space" in college. Cody did show flashes of dominance as a junior, but after he suffered a minor injury IMO became the Fat Guy using his weight as his advantage. In college that works, but let's say we draft him, he's not gonna be able to rely on his fat when he's goin up against guys like Nick Mangold, Dan Koppen, Jeff Saturday, Matt Birk, and Kevin Mawae.

The fact that he's been handled fairly well in 1-on-1 matchups doesn't make me feel better about him.

ok logical until you realize that qbs audible... running downs become passing downs in a hurry when a qb knows your personel can't get through the line
