View Full Version : Deadliest Catch Captain Phil Harris Passes Away

02-10-2010, 09:07 AM
Phil Harris, the fishing boat captain whose adventures off the Alaska coast were captured on the television show "Deadliest Catch", has died, the Discovery Channel said Tuesday night. He was 53. Harris suffered what his family described as a massive stroke on Jan. 29 while the fishing vessel he captained, Cornelia Marie, was in port at St. Paul Island, Alaska.

I am saddened by hearing this. Deadliest Catch is a great show to watch. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

Wow. He was my favorite captain man. This sucks, to simply put. I feel bad for Jake and Josh. Wow. Hearts go out to them.

I wonder if one of the kids will become the captain, or if they'll have to go to work for another guy, or different boat even. Sad news, I like the show. You could tell by the way he chain smoked and didn't sleep much, this might be the outcome. He had a close call already last season.

That sucks! I'm sorry to hear that he's passed away. Man that dude smoked a lot. I'll bet that had something to do with it. Sucks, he seemed like a genuinely good guy!

That sucks about Captain Phil.

Hey Bumpus, did you know Billy Mays played football at WVU?

Did he spend his time on the sideline trying to peddle various stuff? Like the OxyClean I think it was, he could have used that for the grass stains that you'd get on your uniform.

Possibly. He was a walk-on LB who never really saw any time ... So, maybe.

Vote Bumpus.

It's too bad Phil didn't get to die at sea. That's the way he would've wanted it.
