showed Sparano on the phone and Ireland without his glasses (with a smirk) watching Weatherspoon run the 40.

I love this kid hope he ends up in Miami.

Not saying this means anything I know someone will say somethign along those lines I am just starting a discussion on a guy I really like.

Why not pick him up in the 1st? Some mocks do have him in the 1st...If he has all the right stuff (attitude, skill, intangibles), hes of value no doubt.

mayock has him at 19th I think.

I tend to like mayocks evaluations. I have no idea where anybody else has him.

we certainly need all the LB help we can get, both inside and outside.

I have other guys I want before him, but I wouldn't shed a tear if we got spoon.

Spoon is a top 20 prospect. #12 is not reach for Spoon, no more than Dan Williams or Brandon Graham or Griffen are a reach at 12.

I have seen him a couple of places mentioned as a "Top 20" pick. I would not be surprised to see him pass McClain on some boards and if McClain looks bad at his Pro Day, Spoon could easily be the first ILB off the board.

I would love to have the guy on our team.

No... We run a 3-4, not a 4-3, McClain is far superior as a 3-4 prospect.

He could play either inside or outside. He looked VERY smooth in the LB drills.

i like the guy, but at 239 hes a bit light to play inside in a 3-4. hes a 4-3 backer when i look at him. would play more to his skillset

I think 'spoon could be the pick. Everything I hear about him is super positive. I'd ignore the media speculation that he is at the bottom of the first round. He sounds like he fits our needs perfectly.

If we ran a 4-3 I'd be all over this guy, he looked great in his drills and his interview was very good, hell i might would take him anyway!

I liked the kid ALOT this time last year...Gone off him a bit though.

Watched him play in Mizzou's Bowl game against Navy (?) in TX....The kid looked lost and ineffective. I was really disappointed.

If people are hyping this kid up then could someone please tell me what they see in him, that they dont see in Iowa's Pat Angerer seeing they're a similar size.

Agreed. I was on the McClain bandwagon up until last week. I've changed my thinking. I think Weatherspoon has a bright future in the NFL. He tests well at the combine and was very productive in college. He can play inside or outside.
I like him more than Kindle too (with all due respect to Mayock)

Micah Johnson ran a 4.99. I know 40 times are just part of the evaluation, but that's an O-lineman 40 time. That is pedestrian and would certainly limit his success in the NFL.
Is Johnson injured? I've never seen such a slow 40 time for a LB

Our FO reached on every pick but 2 last year. Why would this year be an exception??

He was coming off an injury and was not 100%. You could tell that he was still huge and out of shape a little bit from the fracture.

But you have to respect Micah for coming out there and competing, and not hiding like some others.

He must not be 100% yet..atleast i hope not with that 5 sec 40. i dont know why he would run if he wasn't healthy, certainly wouldnt help anything

He was projected to miss the combine, together with Sam Maxwell OLB from Kentucky who was also injured. But I think Micah made it a point to recover fast and participate, and he did. You have to respect that.

The alternative was not to participate, and his draft position was going down anyway so he decided to come and show that he can do it even though he is not fully recovered. I don't think he hurt himself. He was already slipping down to 6th round.

Don't put too much stock in that 40 time. That's about what Bryan Cox ran back in '91 and he turned out ok.

With that kind of speed and strength, I'm sure the Trifecta would overlook the weight as long as they like everything else. When you're under 35, your Testosterone is at a high level (normally). There's FIVE months between April and September, which is plenty time for him to put on at least 15 good pounds of muscle. That would make him 254.

I can't believe the Dolphins went so long having a weight room with just machines. It took Parcells to come in here and change all the equipment from machines to barbells and dumbbells. For an NFL team to have a weight room full of machines is shameful.

Thank you, Mr. Parcells.

Karlos kills any spec on this guy but no karlos makes spoon possibility. bit undersize for our tastes.

I see this guy in a Philly uni somehow. Must be the name or something.
