Anyone else excited?

Let's see how it goes.

Berry ran a 4.40.... Definitely doesn't hurt his draft stock at all, and I doubt Thomas runs that fast.

Where are you getting 4.40? On the NFL Network, I just saw him run a 4.46 (unofficial).

can we throw reshad jones (georgia) name into the safety mix. we pick too late probably for berry and too early for thomas. linebacker first and safety second? thoughts?

not sure where he got his source, but it says 4.40 on this site also

if he ran in the 4.4's officially, his superior height, weight, arms make him the clear cut #1 db. he even looks pretty jacked. i wasn't sure if the weight he and thomas put on before combine was legit, but so far his is.

Just saw the 4.40.

Berry looks amazing.

Can't wait to see Thomas.

Berry and Thomas are the only S's I'm immediately interested in. If we don't go Berry or Thomas in the 1st, I don't see us looking at S's until the 4th. I don't see any other dominate cover FS's.

They all run 2 forty yard dashes
hence
4.40
4.46

I realize this, but I was watching the drills, and the post was made prior to the 4.46 (which came before the 4.4).

I like the fact it wasn't a 4.3 which was the rumor that he would run. 4.3 and he is gone long before us. 4.4 that is still human which may give us a chance.

Yes I am still holding on to the dream that he is there at 12 and we pick him. Can't get Davis, Smith, Bell/Wilson, and Berry out of my head.

Should say that Mayock - like I've been - is nervous about Thomas at 208. Big combine for ET.

Can someone tell me what Rolle runs?

Thanks,

berry also with a 10'10 broad jump. looking less and less likely that he will fall to us.:boohoo:

Chris Cook in the second could be just as good.
I like Kam Chancellor in the third as well as alternative at safety. I think a lot will be watching his fluidness in the drills.

What did Thomas and Rolle run in the 40?

CJGoCanes
03-02-2010, 01:17 PM
Thomas a 4.53 and Rolle a 4.69 on their first runs, unofficially

j-off-her-doll
03-02-2010, 01:24 PM
That's a little disappointing for Thomas. We'll see what it looks like officially and see if he can improve it on his 2nd go. I expected Berry to run faster in the 40 - being the longer-limbed athlete. Can't wait to see Thomas in the coverage drills.

CJGoCanes

Thomas a 4.44 second time, much better

That's more like it.

Quickness is the big thing with him. Shorter strides but quicker feet than Berry. If he times out close in the 40 to Berry, it's at least a wash for Thomas. I'd count it as a win. The Broad Jump is important, too.

If the 4.44 holds up, Thomas has made himself a very legitimate pick at #12.

And whats up with Earl Thomas's double-chin? Looks like he put on that weight at Golden Corral and not the weight room. Wow, he looks awful - his face is even droopy for a young man. I thought Golden Taint was bad, as he looked like a little bloated tick running that 40, but damn Earl, lay off the ice cream.

dude this is the combine, not America's next top model

This is the same guy that said Mays will be a HOF player while Berry will be out of the league in three years.

So, Berry ran a 4.47. What'd Thomas run?

BTW, that 4.47 is BS. Berry ran very well.

Is it just me or does the tiing machine seem to be off. Everyone else's times are much lower. Making everyone seem slower. I bet everyone does better at their proday. This thing is screwy.

Definitely. I'm to the point where I don't care about the times. Thomas and Berry both looked very good running. They ran with suddenness. Thomas should be coming up here in one of the coverage drills.

ET just had the best backpedal transition I've seen all day - by a long shot. Most of these players are all over the place. He's tight, succinct, he he doesn't lose any time. Looked a good deal better than Berry in the drill.

Looks quicker than any of the CB's. With his instincts, you can see why Mayock ranks him as the best coverage/ball hawk FS he's seen in 8-10 years.

Not BS, you gentleman just do not understand that 40 times are BS unless it is electronically timed. So you hear times for years about guys from stopwatches and then they come to the combine and get timed correctly, everyone thinks they werent timed right. Berry is exactly a 4.47-4.50 guy. Thats what he plays on film. I model my game after him and that is perfect speed for a guy like him. People that thought he would run faster just never played at an elite level.

If you didn't get past college football you never played it at an elite level either.

Why do people even bother with these troll accounts.... and i let myself get trolled by it too because its in every thread...

Do you think Earl thomas will be ranked higher than any LB that will most likely be available at 12? I really hope the Dolphins consider him at 12 if he is there.

I think it's possible. I definitely wouldn't mind it if Miami took him at #12 either.

I am a High School Junior at Ely High School in Pompano. And I will make it to the elite college level, regardless of how many of you has-beens want to hate. Come to my game and see me shine, I have God on my side. Dare to dream and tune out the haters. Now go eat your pickles.

Dude if you are legit, then I wish you all the best in the world at college and hopefully pro's one day.

Lately I see posts by people with names like NFL SCOUT and then I see yours as PrepAllAmerican... not a typical forum name.... so I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

Lastly, I couldn't care less about being a "has-been".... I don't think you can even call someone who just played HS ball for fun as has-been... Personally, i took my free ride VIA academics so I didn't bother with playing football anymore after high school other than being a fan.

Hope you do, if you are legit and not a troll, make it all the way to the Pros.... and if you are have sick game please go to the Canes and not leave for the GayTors ...

k thanks ;)

if you're legit then i'm sure the community here wishes you well, but dont come here and talk all high and mighty because you "will play at an elite level" as far as everyone else here is concerned you could be a overweight garbage man living in your parents basement. point is this is a forum to gain/give information, as well as opinion and is a generally fun place to talk Miami football. :hi5:

Look you should be honored that we have an elite highschool football player ripping players in the NFL and letting everyone else know their wrong in their opinions not just having a different one of his own.

Thomas solidified himself as the pick at 12 for me, after this combine. Berry and Bryant are guys i wouldnt pass on wither though.
