It's funny how guys drop like rocks....last yr Mays and McCoy would have been top 10 picks, this yr their trash...

damn you guys are quick i was just gonna post this. If he had any ball skills he would be 12 definitley but....he really is very bad in coverage.

Seriously, nobody that big should be able to run that fast. That is just crazy and has a 41 inch vertical. Crazy!!!!!!

You guys are taking too much stock into speed and jumping abilities. It's all about performing in the game. Game footage should be 95-99% of decision.

Yeah. It'ss weird. Mays looked so good before this past year. Maybe he lost focus somehow but the skills are still there. Perhaps he just needs better coaching. Who knows. That 40 time is very impressive though. We'll have to wait for the official time before getting too excited.

Mays never looked good. People kept waiting for him to look good - being an amazing athlete. He's stiff.

Taylor Mays is the most dominating physical specimen at this combine - the words of Mayock. He makes Berry look like a little boy. In the end, Berry will be injured severely by his 3rd year and will be out of the league. Mays will be a HoF, what a beautiful specimen.

LMFAO.

Worst post ever?

I think Taylor Mays should be moved to OLB. He may be a bit "Lanky" 6'3 1/8" 230. But if he struggles in coverage why not give him a chance at OLB??

It's much safer ragging on Taylor Mays and making fun of how fat Mt. Cody is from behind our computers.:tongue2:

Deion Sanders just compared Taylor Mays to our old safety Louis Oliver who according to Deion ran a 4.3 back in his day.

I could live with another Louis Oliver (in round 2).

Al Davis just had a hard on.....if, by any divine intervention, he can still manage one, without those blue MMs...

1. Some coach with a big ego will draft him in the 1st.
2. He's hot garbage. If it weren't for the combine and his reputation, he'd be a 4th RD pick at best.

Taylor Mayes will be a first round pick...Ill bet 100 bucks on it. (And im a college student)

Wow, unofficial time 4.24 to 4.43 official. Still good but everyone can calm down now

j-off-her-doll

How does 4.43 sound, Mr. Mays?

I have to say that these times seem much slower than the players are - except for Mays.

Canadi-Phin
03-02-2010, 01:57 PM
This guys should be drafted by a Cover 2 team and moved to WOLB. He would be star in that spot, absolute star. He would have great cover skills for a LB, he can hit, he has the size and the speed a cover 2 team would want. Watch out for the COlts with this guy. But as a WOLB.

FinaticalOne
03-02-2010, 01:59 PM
He is the new "FREAK" in the NFL. Look for Al Davis to trade up into the St. Louis Rams' spot and draft him #1 overall

Loius Oliver was a liability in pass coverage.
In todays pass happy NFL,coverage is a must ....Berry is head and
shoulders better than Mays.

I don't think so.

Thats because you've been hatin' on him since the beginning of the thread and saying he had stiff hips. Truth is if you actually watched him in the DB drills today you would have noticed for a man his size he performed very well and as a fact was very fluid in his movements.

Taylor Mays = NFL BUST BIG TIME AT SS. If he cant hack in college, how do you expect him to cover in the NFL? And how is Mays better then Berry? Thats the most absurd thing i heard all day. If you think Mays is so good because of a combine, then you should probably become Raiders fans.

I don't normally like to respond to ridiculous threads like when it just becomes arguing/bragging but LOL with the Juan Huron comments.

I should be a 3-star after this year. But dang you old white men creepy, lookin up my name. Aint goin into no locker room with u dudes runnin around. But even though you creeped everyone out, now you can flow.

So as a star safety, have you ever been matched up against the similarly talented HS star Juan Huron?

I am sure Usain Bolt could run a 4.0 40 yard dash but I don't want him as a D-Back either.

Quadfather
03-02-2010, 06:15 PM
i told you hed run a 4.2 forty. but the thing to look at is his 20 yard shuttle. if its under 4.0 i want him, means hes quick side to side. if its around 4.3 or 4.4 even, that just means hes a track star and id be wary of his forty time. anyone have his 20 yard shuttle time?

Taylor Mays will be a good safety to save touchdowns when an RB breaks free, but that's about it.

Don't see the use in drafting a safety that won't be able to cover TE's... considering all of Miami's linebackers can't do the same.

Don't listen to all this "official" time BS... I never take account into it. Taylor Mays ran faster than one kid who ran a 4.34 (forgot his name) when they were both shown together, but a hair slower than Jacoby Ford, who ran a 4.28... My guess is that Mays ran around a 4.3... And being 6'3", 230 pounds running that fast.... Only if he had some coverage skills. Hopefully he will pull a Mario Williams... but that's because I have a bias for USC players.

He's a track star, that's it. He will never do a thing in the NFL
