No CJ Spiller. He must be way out in front somewhere.

Daniel Jeremiah said scouts told him they had Mays at 4.29 and 4.30.

Somebody (scouts?) is trying to get Mays to fall to them....

Child please. Tim Tebow was already on the sidelines buying himself a hot dog at the time slots that each of those pictures were taken.

Yeah, there's no way that 4.43 is right. I also don't see anyone else who's "official" time differed from the unofficial by that much

Mays will be a hot dog vender. Its hard to believe that a guy with so much strength and speed could suck so bad. But watch his tape.

yeah, the unofficial and official times were 2 tenths different.

I smell cahootery.

Yea, there's no way the times differ that much from unofficial to official, 2 tenths of a second is an aweful lot when you're talking about a 40 time.

At worst, he's a bum. He'll likely be a sluggish player that takes poor angles and runs in straight lines really fast.

Most scouts timed Mays at 4.32, which is what teams are going by.

I give Mays a lot more credit then most people do. Most people seem to knock him for a lack of interceptions but as he says, he was taught to knock the spit out of the guy trying to catch the ball and not go for the ball himself. I can respect that idea.

You cannot teach height and speed which he has. He can cover the bigger, faster, pass catching TEs that are now part of the NFL.

nothing is official until talent_scout gives him a personnel workout and gets his real measurements. then we'll know what's under superman's cape.

too bad they messed up his time at combine because really, pro days or scouts won't be timing him electronically so that was the last chance.

Seems like every year the combine's 40 meter timing system is fubar'd. It's not rocket science to fix this...

As much as people think the combine 40 is accurate b/c it's electronic timed, it's not. It's a little more accurate b/c the laser does stop the time when the player crosses, but the electronic time is started by hand....at the movement of the player. So again, the start time is all subjective b/c it's based on a human element. Also, it's not like a typical sprint race where everyone starts at the same time at the sound of a gun. These guys choose when they start, so the timer doesn't know when that will be.

Plus, nobody in the NFL starts running in a stance like that....so again, it's subjective to how it translates to playing speed.

why not just use 2 lasers? just have to be sure they line up with every body part behind the line

That's what I got when I went back and timed it.
