View Full Version : MiamiDolfan85's 7 Round Mock

03-04-2010, 07:18 PM

1:Brandon Graham,SOLB out of Michigan(6'1",268)

[Miami will probably sign Dansby to be a SOLB this year, while Graham makes the transition to standing up,and playing in coverage.Very similar to Pittsburgh's Lamarr Woodley, and he said he compares his game to him and thanks him for all hes taught him.Graham showed that he had decent speed, running a 4.72 a 268,although Miami might want to cut 5-8 lbs. from him]

2-Dexter McCluster,WR/RB out of Ole' Miss(5'10",172)

[Dont buy into the 4.58....Dexter is clearly faster in pads, and Miami's never made the combine into a sink or swim scenerio for potential prospects.Cam Thomas is another player here that can be taken here, but theres so much fire between Miami and Dexter,I cant ignore it.Also,Miami has shown in the past few years that the have no problem going outside the box,so to speak,in the second round.Would really change the offense for the better, and help get that chunk yardage Ireland was talking about]

3:Jimmy Graham,TE out of the U(6'6",260)

[Graham and Sparano have been spotted habing seperate conversations and indu-endos(what?) during the Senior Bowl.Looked real smooth, and athletic while running the WR gauntlet at the Combine, has natural hands, and posted a 4.57 and 10 inch hands, aswell as a 38.5 vert.Considered a mid-risk/very,very high reward. If Sparano can mold Graham into the TE he wants Jimmy to be,Jimmy Graham can truly be one of the best TEs in the game 3 years down the road]

4:Scott Long,WR out of Louisvillie(6'2",216)
[Really had one of the biggest days of any WR at the combine.Long is a well est. route runner, and running a 4.46 is a good time for a 6'2 WR,good enough to be considered a threat to go deep, and possibly a starter in this league.Went in a no-name,to coming out..."hey....who is that guy?".Looks to be the perfect WR for Miami,as he can get the YAC we lack,as he posted over 18 ypc. With a dominant pass catching TE(in a few years,Im assuming Grahm would be that guy),could make players liek Hartline,Bess and Long look even better]

6:Al Woods,NT out of LSU(6'4",311)

[Pretty much an under-achiever at LSU.Parcells has ties with LSU,and has been quite fond with players coming out of Louisiana State.Im looking at Parcells history, and it just leads me to believe he'll stick to drafting developmental NT's,which is what Woods would be.He probably wont be fairly evaluated until about 3-4 years down the road, which leads me to believe Miami might make play for a stop-gap NT in the mean-time]

6b:Walter Thurmond,CB out of Oregon(5'11",189)

[Walter has very good hands.Getting back to back 5 picks in '08,and '07(also psoted 103 tkls that same year).Extremely productive at OU.Should be a decent nickle,to say the least,as he has good hands, solid tackling, and good size]

6c-Dexter Davis,WOLB out of Arizona State(6'2",244)

7:Robert Vaughn,FS out of Uconn(6",200)

7b:Corey Peters,DE out of Kentucky(6'3",296)

Still think it is too early to put out a mock. I have to see how FA shakes out, but I, like you, will put Graham #1 regardless what happens in FA.

I only like one pick and that is Jimmy Graham IMO you reached on the first two picks.

I prefer addressing FS with pick #12 - as I think the first three (maybe even four) rounds will be loaded with OLB's. That said, I love and have loved B. Graham.

I like this mock. I'm really starting to like B. Graham or Earl Thomas at #12.

Don't like McCluster in the 2nd. I don't really want another undersized player in the 2nd round. I know he looked good in Senior Bowl practices, but it didn't show up during the game. I would rather look at best available FS, ILB, NT depending on the first pick & FA or trade back.

Really like J. Graham or Pitta in 3rd round if either are there.

Really like Scott Long in the 4th.

The rest are good also. Could see M. Easly and a development G making it in the 6th & 7th rd picks.

Not sure about the players u selected but I think it looks really neat how you put the pictures of the players on their, looks very authentic and real! Good job...

I like it. If we get Dansby then it would be the ultimate coup to get two LB's that would make Nolan look like absolute genius in a hurry.

McClain is out if we get Dansby and this regime will want to upgrade the OLB spot in a hurry but with a guy who fits. Brandon Graham would be a fine pick at 12 for me. Its more about projecting what he will do in our system than what everyone else thinks where he should go.

Jimmy Graham may have to be done in 2nd round. I see 3rd rounder going WR whether its Boldin or draft pick and I think McCluster can make it to 4th round for us. His slow time will turn people off and his size and RB is deep.

Like this draft.

if we sign dansby, then do you agree that mcclain is off the board for miami
and would go to graham [which i think they would do anyways].

so then it would be this.............

Wont happen! but if it did, that would be the ULTIMATE finz
draft. just plain out of the park!!!!

what i would give for that draft. brandon graham is my favorite
defensive player and golden tate is my favorite offensive player
in the draft.

golden tate wont get anywhere near the 2nd round.

I agree with FINFAN54, that would be an A+ draft. I really like Tate, despite not being very big, he's a real playmaker with great explosiveness. I love Graham too, Ifelt while watching the Dolphins last year our greatest need was a dominant player in our front 7. Graham could very well be that guy, he reminds ne of the Steeler's OLBs.
