McClain is the only LB suited at #12. Dan Williams might be good at #12 for DT/NT. One of the top 3 FS will be there too. I wouldn't spend it on Dez Bryant. The defense needs too much help.

If we sign Clark, I'm really confident we'll be going with Graham or Williams, unless Berry is available.

If Miami signs Clark, it's going to be either: Dan Williams, Sergio Kindle, or Brandon Graham.

No Thanks on JPP. I like Kindle but see him more of a 4/3DE

My list reads:

Brandon Graham
Sean Weatherspoon
Dan Williams

All goes out the window if Berry falls.

IMO, Graham is the safest of the 3. I like him alot. Would love to find a team to trade down with and get him in the late teens and pick up another 2nd.

Out of those, I want Graham.

I've been going back and forth and back and forth on our 12th overall pick options.

They all seem to have risks...

Dez Bryant - reports that he's lazy or has attitude?
Rolando - overrated?
Dan Williams - inconsistent?
Earl Thomas - seems rock solid but we're signing Ryan Clark?
Derrick Morgan - more of a 4-3 DE but we did interview him at combine.
JPP - too raw?
Kindle - character, run support?

Brandon Graham seems a lock to be a LeMarr Woodley type NFL player and that would be very good for our defense. I'd be comfortable with him at 12.

CJ Spiller - I'd be worried about his between the tackles running and he could end up like Reggie Bush but I think he could also end up being like Marshall Faulk and I'd risk the 12th overall pick for that.

Going outside the box, I have a funny feeling Golden Tate could be the best rookie performer at WR from this class and he could be a Steve Smith-like talent.

Going further outside the box, if Anthony Davis is still available at 12, we could take him and our OL could be the NFL's best. Davis could start at RG for us and later in his career take Vernon Carey's spot at RT, and be excellent LT insurance for Jake Long. Davis would be a BPA/luxury pick but if we keep filling defensive holes in FA?

Overall, I'd want to trade down into the 20s and get an extra 2nd round pick - and then come away with Graham or Tate and the extra 2nd rounder.

I've read Sean Weatherspoon turned off alot of GM and Personnel types at the combine ... They say he has the makings of a cancer in the making because of his loud mouthed style .. not sure i'd want a Mini Porter on this team!!! i'll pass!!!

Yep either NT- Dan Williams or WR - Dez Bryant. Most likely Dan Williams since ya got to have a NT to play a 3-4 def period :hi5:

Huge Difference between JP's "Mouth" and Weatherspoon's. Spoon is a vocal leader and a fun character.

We would be lucky if we can lock that kid in.

I don't know about Spiller at 12, but I know he won't end up like Reggie Bush. From what I've seen, Spiller does his thing by using great vision and making people miss on open field, and uses his speed appropriately. All Reggie did was run around in circles and use his speed as the main aspect of his game. That's why he's just now starting to realize that running sideways won't get him anywhere.

In no perticular order.....
Brandon Graham, Eric Berry, Earl Thomas, Dez Bryant, Sean Weatherspoon, CJ Spiller

Get any one of those guys and I'd be very very happy. Guys I wouldn't be happy with are Dan Williams, Rolando McClain, Sergio Kindle, and Jason Pierre-Paul. I could probably convince myself these guys are good picks lol just because I will want them to work out but as of right now I want nothing to do with any of them.

I'll take Thomas or the Spoon. The other players just wont fit on our team, or are not worthy of the 12th pick imo. I wouldn't mind trading down either. I don't think anyone in our spot is going to be a superstar.

Dansby's signing all but eliminates Rolando McClain from Miami's big board (unless he slips all the way to our 2nd rounder, which is all but guaranteed not to happen). Ryan Clark looks like he will be signed, perhaps as early as Monday morning, which means Miami likely would not go for a CB/FS like Earl Thomas (though Eric Berry, if available, would be tempting...).

My top 3 picks, IF available, would be:

(1) Dez Bryant -- This pick is on the condition that Miami doesn't sign ANTONIO Bryant. Dez would still be an absolute beastly talent, but if Miami signs the other Bryant in FA, they have more pressing needs to address right now than WR (namely OLB and perhaps NT and/or S).

(2) Brandon Graham -- Miami absolutely NEEDS outside LB help and Graham has all the tools to be an impact player at that spot

(3) CJ Spiller -- The Dolphins sorely lack a player (outside of the VERY disappointing Ted Ginn) with the playmaking abilities and speed that Spiller provides. I suggest taking Spiller on one condition: I believe that Miami is looking to trade Ronnie Brown and will do so if a good offer presents itself.

You summed up my own thoughts well.

If the FO isn't sold on Solai, I could at least try to JUSTIFY a pick of Dan Williams (even though supposedly he is just as one dimensional as Solai is) at #12.

McClain is a pointless pick at #12 when we have Channing and Dansby to man the ILB positions.

I'm not sold on Sergio Kindle yet and think he is a talented player with a high BOOM/BUST potential.

I'm just guessing, but a passrush-starved team in the top 10 might take JPP before Miami even has a crack at him. Regardless, if JPP is available, I still wouldn't take him. I believe you could get a more accomplished passrusher for the OLB position with either Brandon Graham @ 12 OR a guy like Jerry Hughes (TCU?) likely in round 2.

CJ Spiller is a luxury pick. I cant believe anyone is actually considering this guy. Good player, but we dont need him. Even if we did need him, he looks like another Reggie Bush.

no to Pierre, I like the other 2 but what'd like is for us to move down and get an extra 2nd round pick if posible then go OLB,WR,TE and NT

I agree with you, and I def. see shades of Bush in Spiller, but that's not necessarily a bad thing IMO. I only suggested Spiller with a few things in mind...

I doubted Miami would take Spiller if they had no intent to trade Ronnie Brown (something I SUSPECT might happen). In that scenario, Ricky would likely take the starting spot and Spiller would be used as a change-of-pace back and return specialist (ala Felix Jones in DAL and Reggie Bush in NO).
Spiller is a homerun threat every time he touches the ball and Miami SORELY lacks a player like that, which is why I don't view him as a total luxury pick. Pat White IS a luxury pick and cannot change the game in an instant the way Spiller would be able to.
Miami just MIGHT be in position to take a luxury pick. Signing Dansby was HUGE. Ryan Clark looks like he will be our next starting FS. Solai is better at NT than I think he gets credit for, not to mention the FO could always look to sign a vet to provide insurance in case Solai regresses. Antonio Bryant seems to be on Miami's radar, though if he is signed it's too early to say. IF Miami addresses ILB (check), S (potentially checked off), WR, and NT (Solai really could be the answer at this spot), then Miami really wouldn't have to spend the #12 pick on a NEED. Their only MAJOR weakness left would be at OLB and this draft is DEEP in prospects at this spot. If Miami passed on Graham/Kindle/Griffen/etc there would likely still be players left in later rounds such as J.Hughes/J.Worilds who could just as well fill Miami's need at OLB.
Again, just my two cents...

Well if Spiller is going to end up being a Marshall Faulk type talent, then we should just draft needs be damned.

Maybe you'll see a draft day trade of Ronnie depending on what happens at 12...

Example: if Dan Williams is gone at 12 but Spiller is there, then maybe we draft Spiller and then trade Ronnie and our 4th round pick to CLE for Shaun Rogers and their 2nd round pick.

The we upgraded from Ronnie to Spiller (sorry Ronnie, no offense).

And don't have to risk starting NT on a rookie and jump up from round 4 to early round 2. That could work out nicely...
