I'm all for drafting him if Benn is off the board at the 43 pick

I've been on Bey Bey's **** since after his freshman year. Just always looked like Megatron Jr. to me. Would LOVE to get him at 43!

Thomas won't help us until 2011 because he's injured

3 words, hey bey bey. I would be thrilled if we got him in the 3rd. I think the second is a little earl unless we end up with multiple 2nd rounders. The guy has unlimited potential but I have never liked playing the upside game. But when it comes to this kid I'm more than willing to take the risk

We will be lucky to get him in the 2nd, the third is a pipe dream unless his foot needs to be amputated!

D.Thomas is really the only WR I want outside of B.Marshall.

Dez will probably go top 10. Benn and Thomas, and Tate will probably go before 43. So, if we are to select a receiver in top 2 rounds, we need to take a WR at 12, either Benn, Thomas or Tate. But if Dez is available at 12 it's a no-brainer talent wise.

Thomas won't help us until 2011 because he's injured
He was hurt 3 weeks ago and his recovery time was estimated at 6-9 weeks max.
He will be fine for 2010.

This report says 4-6 weeks but its normally 6-9

Georgia Tech wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, a projected first-round draft pick, broke his left foot on Wednesday while training for the NFL combine in Scottsdale, Ariz., according to SI.com.

Thomas has been ruled out of participating in any of the workouts during the combine, according to SI.com.

Thomas agent, Todd France, told SI.com that doctors expect a 4-to-6 week recovery period.

"There are no long-term effects from the injury and Demaryius will be 100 percent by the time OTA's begin," France told SI.com, adding that surgery is a possibility. "If surgery hastens the healing process, that is something we will consider."

Look at Demaryius Thomas against some good defenses, corners:

Wake Forest - 3 for 38, 0 TDs
Virginia Tech - 1 - 51, 0 TDs
Iowa - 0-0, 0 TDs

I think in the pros you can expect outings like that from Thomas.

Why do people keep insisting on drafting a WR that doesn't run routes well?????

That's a WR PRIMARY JOB...I just don't get it people !?!?!?!?

they only problem is that i have been hearing that he will go in the late first.. they have been talking about him moving up the draft boards all week.. we may have to move back or jump back into the first to get him.. and i just dont see that happening.. so unless we get lucky he wont be there with our 43 pick..

Sirius radio did a live mock with P.Kirwin and T.Ryan and they had D.Thomas 10th to the Jags. They said a few times scoutségms they talk to believe D.Thomas will be highly sought after in the 1st.

We`ll see I guess!

I really think the fact that he hasn't really been coached up when it comes to route running is going to cause him to fall. Maybe it's just wishful thinking

Not even close to possible. Before he got hurt people were placing him in the 3rd and 4th round. He supposedly ran in the 4.3s while training but has anyone actually seen it? Thomas would have gone in the late first round at best and he won't end up going until the middle of the 2nd at the earliest. I really think it'll be the 3rd

I'm with you. I'd be pretty excited if we got him in the 2nd. However, everything I'm hearing, this guy is rising up the draft boards. Alot of scouts are saying he is going to be better than Calvin Johnson. I think he will be gone somewhere int he 20's.

LOL man third? The buzz is he might not reach the end of the first. Definately wont get past mid 2nd, will never make it to the third round.

I am hoping that Benn has a good proday and maybe the experts will put him back to the #2 WR and then maybe he will reach our #43 pick.
