What Mr. Beck is saying is that...Pres. Obama and his spiritual advisor Rev. Jim Wallis is using the Bible to push and promote their wealth distribution program.

I Have Some Questions for Jim Wallis
The Social Gospel defends this system of compulsory wealth-redistribution in the name of Jesus. It teaches that Jesus implicitly favored economic aid to the poor in the form of government policies that can be enforced only by the threat of systematic violence.
No New Testament account of Jesus offers evidence that He recommended such a view of Christian civil government.

While all of this, of course, is relevant to an ardent free-market capitalist, what really frightens me is that Obama’s latest announced “spiritual adviser” has had connections with all these Marxist regimes. And who is the president’s latest adviser? The Rev. Jim Wallis.

I heard Democrats are using “Social Justice” as the new moral word for Redistribution of Wealth....WOW!
Can you believe that?
The link below is to an interview with Obama’s new progressive Evangelical Spiritual Advisor Rev Jim Wallis who is asked this question.
Interviewer: Are you then calling for the Redistribution of Wealth in Society?
Rev Jim Wallis answers: ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT ANY HESITATION!!
Listen for yourself , advance the timer to 7 minutes 50 seconds.

And what I'm saying is that beer nuts are more appealing than listening to politicians and talking heads talk about scripture.

OK, just making sure that you understand that "Jesus" didn't say you have to give your money.

But Obama's advisor is saying that Jesus teaches that, so beware.

No one knows what Jesus said. We don't even know if Jesus existed at all. We only know what a few ancient men's decades old memories of what Jesus said.

I interpret "It's OK to take your money." Is that what you are saying? Just looking for confirmation.

No. I'm saying that anyone using Jesus for there reasoning for anything is using Tom Foolery to gain some sort of means. People shouldn't be fleeced either by our Government, or Corporations. I have major issues with both. If given the choice of two evils however, I'd rather give to the Government as opposed to Corporations, if that's what you are asking.

The difference is when Government takes money, both rich and poor benefit. When Corporations take money, only the elite rich benefit.

I strongly disagree with that sentiment. Your giving government efficiency a lot of credit.

Where did I say it was optimal benefit? Sure there is waste in Government, lots of it. I wonder what our Interstate Highway system would look like if left to Corporate devises? Or our water supply? Or our military?

I'm ashamed that Glenn Beck is a member of the denomination I grew up in.

If the Church Hierarchy does not address the hornets nest that GB has stirred up this weekend (LDS General Conference) then there is no hope for any semblance of reason.

I have to agree. It could be argued that the Bible endorses Communism? Acts 2:42-47, Acts 4:34 - 5:11, 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12, Ephesians 4:28, & Exodus 16:16-18

You know what happened when you played that game in elementary school when you sat in a circle and whispred something and it went around the circle. It rarely resembled what was initially said.

Remember the Bible was assembled 3 centuries after Jesus lived by men who had an agenda. Not to mention all the translations that have gone down since.
