View Full Version : Are you a Draft Guru?

Are you a a draftnick? Do you love breaking down the positions, players, and matching wits with the experts? Then FinHeaven wants you!

In our new and expanded site this year we will be putting in an expanded draft section and features. It will start smaller this year due to a short time frame but next year will evolve into a full blown feature here at Finheaven. I can't give away all the details now, but it is going to be great.

We are looking for two solid draft experts to feature. Like all staff positions it does not pay, but you will get your work exposed to tens of thousands of fans and we will get you some great publicity. FinHeaven gets 15-20,000 visitors per day and many media and team officials frequent the site.

If you are interested please send me or any of the Admins a PM and throw your hat into the ring!

YOU just might be the next BIG star at Finheaven!! And from there...who knows!

I don't consider myself a "guru", but I would like to mention hooshoops and TedSlimmJr. to go with CK, Boomer and Con.

Yeah, Hoo and Ted are perfect.

03-23-2010, 04:24 PM
Thanks guys!

CK and Boomer are valued mainstays and have a great thing going on at Universal so they have passed. They want to keep doing what they do with us and we are happy about that. We look forward to their usual good work.

This new effort will be exclusive to FH and be original content. Our saying here is a "Site by fans for fans" so we want to have FH draft staff.

HooShoops and Tedslimm shoot me a PM if you are interested!

Excellent! Please send me an official "I am interested" PM. The staff and I will review everyone's work this draft and make some choices. But no matter what everyone will be involved who wants to be.

This sounds cool... I gurantee my Draft will take you to the promise land ;)

Any room for a "guru" in training? :tongue2:

03-23-2010, 05:39 PM
Matt, I'd love to help out too.

03-23-2010, 05:48 PM
I don't have the experience that hoops and Ted have but I would like to help out in anyway that I can to expand the draft portion of finheaven.

Sounds good guys I am getting some great PMs. I will be reaching out more and more in the next few weeks. For what I want to do I think there is something for everyone.

I like to think I am pretty knowledgeable when it comes to the draft and the players available. Football is pretty much my life as are the Dolphins. So I watch and keep undated on it constantly. I watch most College Football and NFL game so I am very familiar with the players when draft time comes around. I am also a very good at projecting where players will go as far as teams and rounds.

So needless to say, I am very interested and would be extremely honored, as well as dedicated if chosen for the position here.

I vote for Hooshoops and Ted Slimm.

I'd add WVDolphan and Awsi Dooger to the list.

Awsi Dooger

I'd add WVDolphan and Awsi Dooger to the list.

Wow, thanks CedarPhin but I'd be like Perot's VP pick in that '92 debate, mostly out of ammo. I still follow Miami and USC players closely, and a sprinkling of guys who catch my attention for whatever reason. But family matters have curtailed the vast majority of my player and film study and knowledge. Same thing with the Derby contenders.

I enjoyed the years when I knew every name and trait, carrying around books detailing the Eric Laaksos. I covered the draft for the Daily Trojan every year, including a first round mock, and did related Las Vegas radio appearances every year for nearly a decade, highlighted by ripping Marinovich and Ware in subsequent years, then Couch.

It really hasn't changed as much as conventional wisdom. With more rounds you had more players to critique. The post season all star games were more numerous, and all nationally televised. Plenty of books like Buchsbaum and Drug Store List and Ourlads, at least six every year.

At this point I rely on guys like CK and Boomer. But if I do have an opinion, it might as well be high amp. :chuckle:

Thansk everyone. I have had 10 really good propsects reach out to me. All of them awesome and assets to this site. I will find some role for all of you to play. If I can put together what I want to put together, then I will need everyone!

I wouldn't say im a draft "guru" but I know about the draft and the players and would love to help with this.

Yeah, Hoo and Ted are perfect.

hoops and Ted get my vote. They know their stuff.

I also nominate talentscout. His knowledge on thigh exposion, gluteus maximus measurements are valuable; and let us not forget, all he has to do is look @ one snap to see if a prospect has what it takes to make it in the pros.
