03/16/2010 - According to NFL Network's Mike Mayock, "just about everyone in attendance" at Georgia Tech's Pro Day believed Derrick Morgan will be a 4-3 defensive end in the NFL -- not a 3-4 outside linebacker. Morgan struggled badly when asked to drop and change direction at the Combine. He was a bit better at Monday's Pro Day, but at 6'3/266 Morgan's best fit appears to be as a base, 4-3 right or left defensive end. Mayock expects Morgan to be drafted somewhere in the top 10-20, though it appears we can cross most 3-4 clubs off the list of potential landing spots. - USA TODAY football

Lots of people think morgan may be the pick but it appears he may not be able to transition from a 4-3 DE to 3-4 OLB

Once again, I really hope we don't take this guy.He is a 4-3 DE an d we don't need that.

I totally agree with this article. We need another linebacker bad especially with a 3-4. I hope McClain is still available.

in last weeks thread, the consensus from scouts was that most thought he could move to a 3-4 OLB ..... it seems like like everyone will say everything good/bad about every draft pick...just so they can say "told you so" some time down the line

When we drafted Dansby ,I just assumed Mclain was no longer a option. Now thinking about the prototype size and speed that our FO likes, Drafting Mclain and playing him or Dansby at SOLB may be a real possibility.

McClain, Berry, Bryant. 1 or 2 of those 3 will be there when we pick. Berry is the only no brainer, McClain or Bryant will be a harder decsion.

Bryant should not be a hard decision...if he's there we should take our legit #1 WR that we need so bad.

I'd be willing to bet that Rolando McClain will not be the pick at 12 for the Dolphins.

No comparison. Morgan is much more athletic. There is a reason why he's considered a top 10 pick in most mock drafts. Unlike Pierre Paul, Morgan has a track record.
He kind of reminds me of Marco Coleman (same school, same ht/wt), but Morgan is faster.

Sometime last week i dont remember what day but on NFLN Mike Mayock and Corey Chavis said that after watching more film on Morgan that they think that he shouldnt have any problem becoming a OLB in the 3-4 defense

Bryant should be a no brainer as well

1 way to go... Earl Thomas or Graham.

That would be two ways to go.

Morgan can become a very effective SOLB, a position of great need on our team. He won't be a WOLB. We already have our WOLB in Wake. That's why I don't see us picking Kindle or Hughes. Graham would also transition to SOLB.
