Utah free safety Robert Johnson will have a pre-draft visit with the Chicago Bears on Tuesday and that is not the only stop he’s making in the course of this week and next.

Johnson, who was a first team All-Mountain West Conference selection this past season, also has visits scheduled with Houston, Miami and Seattle, according to an NFL source. Johnson was snubbed by the scouting combine and in February and after a strong pro day, he’s making the rounds. The teams will want to get a physical on Johnson, one of the principal elements of the combine. The visits will also give clubs a chance to get to know him better.

This would make the second time they meet. I think they call Johnson the Eraser and at 6'2 203 pounds he is exactly the type of player the organization loves. He would also be reunited with Sean

Thing is can he come in and start right away. The Fins need a veteran at FS, Im positive about it. The position is the QB position of the secondary, we can't have rookie mistakes again this year back there.

Truthfully, I don't know if RJ could come in & start right away. The competiton between he & Clemons in training camp would be interesting.

The knock is that he is a soft in tackling. Already have that problem with Smith. There are better options in rounds 2 and 3.

yea, thats cause he cant(no pun intended,Im agreeing w/ you).He is was to lanky and lean,he'd have to put on some weight before he could even step on the field IMO.Also, his run support is not elite, but thats a given,so he would most likely be a 2-3 year project.

The problem is,we already have a potential free safety thats gonna take 2-3 years to develop. If Miami takes a FS,is going to be someone who can come in and start right away, which means they would liekly be a 1-3rd rounder.

Johnson is one of the most underrated players in this draft for my money. I would love this guy in the Round 3-4 range.

What did he run at his pro day?

Here's his pro day info:

My fellow senior analyst Chad Reuter pointed out Robert Johnson as one of the year's bigger Combine snubs in a previous article. Johnson showed that he would have impressed in Indianapolis had he been invited. Johnson measured in at 6-2 1/8 and 203 pounds and lifted the bar 13 times, proving both bigger and stronger than scouts had anticipated. He clocked in at 4.55 to 4.62 in the 40-yard dash.

Johnson was most impressive, however, in the shuttle drills and positional workouts, proving a fluidity which helped him secure 13 interceptions over the past three seasons with the Utes. Johnson's time in the short shuttle was 4.06; his time in the 3-cone was 6.56, each of which would have led all safeties tested at the Combine.

id say hes worth considering in later rounds if we cant get a safety beforehand
