This is something he has said many times over the past several years.
Meyer points out that the best way to judge a strength coach is not by how much weight the players bench press, but how they perform in the fourth quarter. That, he said, is what makes Marotti the best in college football.

Actually,Urban is 1 and 2 against Bama while at Fl.
Even Mike Shula put a beatdown on him
in T-Town.
That's kind of sad.

I'm pretty sure that game didn't actually happen (at least that's what the NCAA says) so it really sits at 1-1.

Ask Tyrone Protho if that game happened.

Christ. That was worse than Theismann.

That dumb*** Shula left him in the 4th during a blowout.
And people wonder why Shula was run off.

I was talking title games. Urban Meyer's Gators have played Bama 3 times: 2006(W)28-13,2008(W)31-20,2009(L)13-32
Mike Shula beat Ron Zook in 2005 31-3, but the win was vacated by the NCAA for recruiting violations during the 2005 season.
**On a side note: I try and not remember the Zook Era. He and Dumbstadt occupy the same status as coaches.

Meyer was our coach in 05. Zook was fired in 04. But yes that game was vacated by the NCAA so that's why I said it didn't actually happen.

Negative...Shula beat Urban like a red-headed step child...and it was text books, not recruiting violations.
I forgot about 2006..so it will be the rubber game in T-Town..

You are correct. Sorry for the mistake. The only thing I remember clearly about the 2005 season is going crazy everytime I watched Clint McMillan playing as an anchor in the middle of the defense and getting driven off the ball on, it seemed, every play. I would sit watching the game with my Dad and yelling,"We have got to have someone better than this on the bench. I don't care if we have to put an OL in the game, get this bum off the field."
