the demo came out today and im very disappointed. it looks like ncaa 11 is going to be the better of the two. when you call hike the carmera slings back kinda hurt my eyes, i couldnt really see the wr untill the last second, and the new announcer is a little annoying. ncaa just seems alot smoother if you get what i mean. idk hopefully the final product will be better.

Here's a good sign: I just whooped on the Jets and the demo froze at the very end. Locked up completely, had to shut off my system.

Other glitches include goal posts not appearing...just a small stump with JETS on it.

I don't like the GameFlow, and I don't like that the stadium gets whisper quiet whether you're on offense or defense.

Cris Collinsworth's commentary screams 'copy/paste' from Madden 10, and the commentary with Gus Johnson seems out of pace. The Verizon drive summary plugs and the Old Spice plugs are just awful. Gus Johnson is not a spokesperson.

What system did you guys play on?

Can you be any team?

I played on the 360. The demo only allows you to play an exhibition as either the Colts or Jets.

Is it a direct download DEMO or the CD version as in last years?

so far i have been disappointed as well. to much extra little garbage that distracts from the actual gameplay imo. i cant stand hearing the supposed offensive coordinator tell me about the horrible play gameflow choose.

It's a direct download -- PlayStation Network or XBox Live Marketplace.

Yeah, they're dumbing it down way too much probably to cater more to a casual gamer market...just more sales for the already multi-billion dollar Madden franchise. The new kicking meter is absolutely stupid.

Plus the "immersive stadium environment" is absent in the demo. Music rarely plays. During my gameplay when the Jets got a late touchdown, there was J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS from the audience. That was actually welcome to my ears because it was way too quiet for the whole game.

I've played the leaked Madden. It's no better than last year. Which shouldn't surprise anyone, Madden hasn't been any good for awhile. That's what happens when you can't compete with 2K sports so you buy the NFL license all for yourself. NCAA 11 is an infinitely better game. That being said, I didn't play online. The 3 vs 3 team play should be loads of fun. Online Franchises are loads of fun. And I was a fan of the Ultimate Team last year, that's making a return. In regards to the autosprint and gamespeed, it can be adjusted. The awful changes to the offensive/defensive adjustments cannot I'm afraid.

i hate the camera angles. i miss the 2k series. last years was the first time i was into madden since 2k. looks like i will spend most of my time on my ncaa online dynasty.

i agree with all parties here, always been a 2k fan. i played a little more tonight and it seemed to get a little bit better, still doesnt have the same feel that 2k5 had, im so sick of seeing the same grab and fling a player down tackle animations. i could be a moron but couldnt 2k make a college game if they wanted to?

I'm pretty sure EA owns the right to NCAA football. NCAA Basketball is another story, and with EA not making an NCAA baketball game this year, I hope 2K sports swoops on it. As for the tackling animations, absolutely correct. IF EA Sports was worth a damn, they would throw **** loads of money at NaturalMotion so they can use their Euphoria engine. God are those tackles in Backbreaker amazing.

Adam First
07-29-2010, 02:14 PM
Yeah, too bad everything else in backbreaker sucks. I miss the NFL 2K series too but I have the understanding to know that it's just not coming back. EA has the nfl market in a chokehold and since madden makes so much money between EA and the NFL, I don't see them relinquishing the exclusive license anytime soon. As Joe Pesci said in "Casino", "Dollars. Always the ******* dollars."

NFL 2K5 is still the best NFL game to date. EA knew it, hence why they got the NFL license for themselves after seeing everyone start to convert to 2K. I can't really blame them though, if you can't compete, get rid of the competitors. Of course in the end it's me and you who suffer as Madden puts out the same, bad game every year because they have no competition to drive them to make a game worth a damn. But they don't care, they're still going to make tons of money off it because people have no other choice but to buy their flawed product.

NFL 2K was not perfect, but its gameplay engine is more realistic and fluid than the Maddens of today. That is a fact.

Sounds like someone enjoys paying $60 a year for the same old cr@p Madden every year. I hate it but it's the only way to get the NFL fix. And if your on xbox I will gladly give you a spanking

It wasn't perfect, but 2K5 was damn near perfect. After it, people started flocking to 2K sports and Madden couldn't handle the competition. I'm actually surprised they haven't struck a deal with the NBA yet, because 2K has been ****ting on them after people realized how amazing 2K8 was, and how much Live sucked. Sadly, 2K9 sucked, as did 2K10, as did Live 09 and 10. I'll definitely be renting both first this year, so I end up buying the less ****ty game. It amazes me how great the NCAA games are, especially NCAA 11, yet Madden continues to suck every year. They're made by the same people, I don't get it.

R&R is ncaa that good this year, i haven't even tried it yet this year aside from about 12 seconds when the demo first came out?

I played last night and one thing to keep in mind with the little things is that this is still a demo and not the final product. I can say I feel that the running game seems to be more realistic then in the past, along with receiving.

The gameplay doesn't feel stiff like it used too. And also the throw-catching is fluid. The blocking and pass rushing wasn't mundane also. Better individual battles.

From what I've seen so far I am satisfied. Hopefully the end product will be tighter. As far as the announcing goes.....I don't even want to go there.

I'm sure some of the glitches seen in the demo were fixed no?

What about the crowd noise/response? Because that definitely had to have been fixed. That was a glaring problem and no way they would release the game that way...

And how did you get your hands on a copy so early?

Online and Offline franchise is untouched, as is the superstar mode. They have gotten rid of NFL network. For what reason beats the hell out of me. EA also has the ESPN licence for 5 years now and hasn't used it...

Played the demo. Gotta say I loved it. The running game and tackles are so much smoother. I'm not thrilled about gameflow, but it does make the game much quicker.

That's the one thing I really like about the new Madden. For the first time ever, Madden finally has realistic blocking. Pulling guards actually block. Fullbacks actually block. I also love how you can use the right stick to hit holes or bounce outside. The tackles though are still awful. Same old boring animations. I've lost hope Madden will ever fix the tackling. As for gameflow, it can be turned off.
