Is it seriously worth the price difference? All cable is broadcasted in 720. most of my playstation games can only go 720. the ones that can go 1080, still run in 720.

so my question is, whats the point? should I save the $400 and get a 720?

that's a tough one man. i'd say go for it.

get the TV at costco. if they have an upgrade over the one you buy within 3 months - you can go exchange it for free. been doing that for 2 years now. every few months like clockwork. the newest HD is so sick - almost weird even. like you're watching a play.

that would be awesome, but I dont have a costco even near me. how the hell do they stay in business allowing stuff like that.

I don't have HD yet, but I sure as hell don't want to pony up for a 720p tv and find out everyone (including the providers) fled to 1080p.

As BobDole pointed out, 1080p puts you in the middle of the pron action. At least I'm pretty sure that's what he was getting at.

indeed it was. like you're watching people - not people on a screen. freakin unreal.

they do that at a few places if i'm not mistaken - heard that from friends at least. sam's might even be one of them - b.j.'s too. worth a little research on your part for sure. i highly suggest watching a game on the 'new hotness' before making up your mind.

1080 all the way. You will not regret it.

But once again...why would the picture be any better? Football games are not broadcasted in 1080p, so if both TVs are the exact same outside of 1080p and 720p, when a football game is on, it would be identical. Outside of bluray movies, ive yet to see an advantage to the 1080p. and im not paying an extra $400 for that.

I have a 1080p TV, its very nice. but i believe i may of bought into the 1080p crap that means almost nothing. the reason i bring it up is a friend wanted to purchase a TV and he asked for my advice. naturally thinking 1080p was so much better, i told him to go that route. well, when me and him went to pick it up, the sales person told us unless we are watching bluray, there is no difference. nothing is broadcasted in 1080p, period. which makes sense, every time i turn my ps3 on to play a game that says 1080p on it, the game still runs in 720. so i would see no difference had i been playing it on a 720...

my boy went on to buy a 720p that looks better then his sharp aquos 1080p and my vizio 1080p.

Don't be cheap when it comes to technology. You get what you pay for. If your going to cough up money to get an HDTV you might as well go for the 1080p

If you were paying for a hooker, would spend your hard earned cash on a 7 or a 10 with the difference between the 7 and the 10 being looks? Spend the extra cash and get the 10. Unless you just wanna bang her in the butt. Then save your money and get the 7.

In summation:

Frontal bang w/ nice face: 1080p
Butt bangs only: 720p

I would go with the Frontal Bang, then when she was getting up to make me a sammich, I'd get her with a nice butt bang, snuff her with a pillow, and then take my money back.

I don't know how this relates to HD but that's what I'd do.

Relates perfectly. The extra money you saved ganking the ho can go towards the 1080p.

No, I got your example. I meant, I didn't know how my interpretation of your example would relate to HD. lol.

I would go 1080p depending on the size of the Tv...

They say if its 40inches or more go to 1080p

720 p tv's do look good but not always..

I actually perfer plasma's these days..LCD do not look good when something is in SD..

Also you have to remeber you may not use 1080p but you may later...

It will also help hold the value of the TV..kinda like leather in a car or a turbo would so to speak..

$400 dollar difference tho? Idk..

Ok, but why? I don't get it. Outside of direct tv, which I don't have, sports are broadcasted in 720p. So what does it matter if I have a 1080p but can't watch anything in 1080p?
