honestly, any surprised here? they can make all the excuses they want, but this is a yearly occurence.

its like hearing bob sanders out for the year. would anyone be like'' holy **** no way''. good teams overcome injuries, and the colts do well without a player like bob sanders who has missed more games then he has started.

i am ready for the jets excuses.

This sucks, there aren't many like him but we made a run to the title game w/o him last year so we have good depth. We'll see what happens.

While I am not happy that a player is injured......... Couldn't have happened to a better franchise!!!!!!!!!!

I could see the Jets resigning Douglas and moving Pouha over to NT..he has the Body to play the nose..or the Jets will just play more 4 man fronts..

He is great for them..Rex will adjust tho.

Injuries are part of the game. They did it without Jenkins last year, I wouldn't consider this a big loss. They still look to be hurting worse from the Faneca release and Vlad not being able to come in and fill the shoes.

this is like the 4th time Jenkins has torn an acl (if I'm not mistaken he did it in back to back years in Carolina). Gonna be tough for a guy that big to come back again.

SpaceMountain16

Not really a surprise. The guy can never stay healthy.

So; he has a track record in durability similar to Ronnie Brown?

Pouha (from the Real U) played well for Team Rex last yr and did okay last night.

Yea their defense improved statistically without him last year, didnt it? The Jets will still be in the hunt. I'd be more worried about that offense than the defense.

Doesn't matter what team somebody plays for, it sucks to see injuries happen. But they are part of the game and your defense did well without him last season. No doubt the end of his career.

Gotta feel for the guy... having to endure the rehab all off season just to come back and have to do it all over again... really sucks. His career is most likely over and like they said on Jets insider.... another Jets FA bust but he had the history.... big risk... big reward.

The loss of Jenkins is a big blow, but as Junc said, the Jets is far beyond Jenkins or any individual. Doubt very much any of the Dolphins coaches are expecting a weak Jets Defense just because they lost Jenkins.

Nappy Roots
09-14-2010, 01:17 PM
It will be a blow to them for sure, and it sucks cuz Jenkins is actually one of the good guys in that POS franchise, but they arent going to miss much of a beat without him. They are far to good in their front 7 to matter much.

Jenkins sustained a torn acl last night and is officially done for the year. As much as I hate the Jets u never wanna see an injury to anyone. Sky is starting to fall for the Jets

That hurts but watching last night - either Ellis is a monster or the RT is terrible for the Ravens. I thought he was killing up front last night. The Jets have Ellis, Harris, Scott, and Revis on D that are very tough. The rest are throw ins. Where are all the folks complaining because Miami should have drafted Kyle Wilson? He looked terrible. He should not have been out on that field last night. That was brutal. Now we saw why SD was so anxious to get rid of Cromartie. No discipline - fits right in with the Jets. Sanchez is so overrated - not sure what was more painful to see - him at QB or Wilson at DB. \

BTW - did anyone see JT with an attitude last night staring at the Ravens bench. Guy looks like he is fitting right in - loser!! That was disgusting to see him wearing green.

Pouha is definitely going to be our NT, he did it last year and was very good in place of Jenkins but he's still not a Kris jenkins.

I would expect some moves to be made over the next day or so.

So; he has a track record in durability similar to Ronnie Brown?

Pouha (from the Real U) played well for Team Rex last yr and did okay last night.

Coming into this year Jenkins played all 16 games in 6 of his 9 seasons, Brown has played 16 games once in his 5 seasons.

My Jests friend was talking **** and I was like Ba Bye Jenkins...he says "He is fine he walked off...." I replied with last year he walked off right as well right to the operating table! Looks like this year as well...not my problem! I do however love watching them lose and just suck like a bunch of prom queens after two many PBRs! GO PHINS!

miamirw
09-14-2010, 02:05 PM
wow.

This'll be the excuse for why we swept them again this year.

That's a huge blow. Injuries are the ultimate equalizer, but cry me a river JetsFan. We've lost a bunch of players already and we're not making excuses. Rex Cryin is going to lean on this event (Jenkins Injury) as the reason his defense isn't as good as last year.

Bring on Minnesota! Ronnie Brown is going to have a huge game. You heard it here first.

I feel bad for the guy - that's almost certainly his career. I don't know anything about knee injuries but it looked like a freak thing that would have done the same to a healthy knee. Too bad.

The Jets will survive on defense without him, and there won't be excuses - there weren't last year.
